Resolved Question: Why is hating America cool these days?

OK, I get it. I hate Bush too. I hate our stupid Republicans, our undereducated high school dropouts, our ignorant nationalists, our miserable healthcare, our violent and invasive foreign policy, our wasted tax dollars, and probably everything else you hate about America. The difference? I don't hate America. Just some things about it. Everywhere I go online I see someone starting a big "I hate America" party, talking about how dumb Americans are and how we're going to blow ourselves up "LOL LMAO OMG ROFL" and all those colorful internet chat emotive phrases. I am not amused by this. Let's lay down some facts about America: Fact: Americans are some of the greatest innovators in history; we invented the telephone, the TV, the internet, the satellite, the radio, the light bulb, the nuclear bomb, the telegraph, the sewing machine, the computer, the refrigerator, the automobile, the motorcycle, the vacuum cleaner, TOILET PAPER (you're welcome), the hearing aid, the skyscraper, the smoke detector, the assembly line, the air conditioner, the airplane, masking tape, scotch tape, duct tape, the photocopier, the defibrillator, the cell phone, the video game, the LASER, the artificial heart, the Hubble Space Telescope, etc. We also are the only country to reach the moon, the oldest thriving democracy on earth, and even in our worst recession ever we're still the most powerful economy in the world. Hell, our founding father (Benjamin Franklin) discovered electricity. We also set the standard for the modern free market, which many countries around the world still follow. The average IQ in America is sadly below average (98) according to most pollsters, but I'm proud to say in my home state, the average is 102. The average in London is 100, and the average in Canada overall is 97. Not that this proves anything; America is so large and diverse in comparison to these other nations that it is expected that there would be a huge discrepancy. What's interesting is that in China the average is also 100, which I find absolutely unbelievable considering the 300 million illiterate peasant farmers and factory workers that have yet to see a day in school. Another thing interesting is that a clear majority of Americans just elected a black president named Barack Hussein Obama, showing that we as a country have begun to move out of our irrational fear of Islam and Black influence.Obama, while not Muslim, has been accused of being Muslim. To that I say: so what? I have a problem with that way of thinking and I shun those who are so anti-Islam that they would attempt to defame someone by association with a non-christian religion. I am not alone in this either. America has committed some terrible atrocities throughout history. We've occupied countries and colonized in a manner much against the wishes of our founders, but that doesn't mean every American is evil and/or stupid, or has a drive for world domination. Some of us want peace, cooperation, and progress. Some of us want equal rights afforded to all citizens regardless of gender, race, sexuality, religion, etc. If you're one of the people out there who has posted something anti-American, especially with no real basis, I hope at some point you realize that what you're doing is not helping to solve the problem. I hope you realize that it isn't "cool" to be racist. I have traveled abroad in many countries and value my experiences and my friends from around the world, and I like to think I changed some of their stereotypes and perspectives about Americans, just as they did for my views of Russians, Germans, Chinese, English, Danish, Latin American, Japanese, Dutch, African etc. All of the people I have met from other great nations have touched me in some way and I have refused to judge you based on the failures of your government, economy, or even your people. I hope you can give me the same courtesy as I say this: God bless America. God bless the whole damn world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_the_Wealth_of_Nations http://perdurabo10.tripod.com/id1048.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_inventionsI feel compelled to clarify something: I meant no offense to Chinese people when I mentioned the 300 million people without formal education who live in rural areas and villages. I do wish, however, that they would be given education. What I meant to demonstrate in that statement was that it is pretty unlikely that, unless the average Chinese person in the city has an IQ of like 120, that the massive amount of underprivileged rural workers should be holding back the national average considerably.John M - I would like to invite you to edit your answer. At this time I am unable to find a way to respond to the tone you chose to use. I see that you harbor some hatred for America, but I would like to point out that this hatred should not be directed at myself, as it has been in your statement. By saying "you", you are equating myself and all Americans together, as if we have the same opinions. This is obviously not the case. Thank you for your post, and I look forward to your revision.Isn't it good? - I'm sorry you chose not to read further. As for the list of inventions, I can assure you I am not mistaken. Please see the following sources. http://www.150.si.edu/150trav/remember/amerinv.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_inventions http://jc-schools.net/write/ppt/inventors_files/v3_document.htm http://wiki.answers.com/Q/When_was_the_first_tv_invented_in_america http://www.loc.gov/rr/scitech/mysteries/auto.html (America invented the first successful gas-powered car but others invented related things... another similar example is the refrigerator. The US invented the first working refrigerator through Oliver Evans but others went on to perfect it) Obviously in the Manhattan Project the US invented the nuclear bomb. What else in question?By pointing out inventions I was not intending to claim ultimate supremacy for America in science and tech. I just think people should shut up about Americans being stupid. There is no need to be defensive. Everyone can name a boatload of contributions to science and technology that their countries have made, of course, and I don't want to cheapen that. You're right, Germans invented an electric 4 wheeled vehicle, but it wasn't effective or marketable. American's invented the first commercially available gas-powered car. I believe I have a website about that in my sources just above. I am fully aware of the atrocities my people have committed, but hatred based on the past doesn't get anyone anywhere. If you're bent on hating me or my country because of the choices of politicians decades, years, or even months ago, I'm sorry. I cannot help you. I just would love to see a world not despising me solely because of my race/nationality.Katerina P, much of that last post was addressed to you, however I also have to point out when you say "God bless America? Why not God bless..." If you actually read the whole body of my original text you would see I said "God bless America. God bless the whole world" or something that effect. I am proud to American despite the problems with my country. I believe we have the potential to change. I voted for Kerry in 2004 and, had I been old enough, I'd have voted for Gore in 2000. I actively protested in the streets the whole time Bush was in office, even in my early teens. Does this make me "responsible for the governments we elect"? Many of the points you make seem good, but I'm afraid much of them are based on misunderstandings of my intent and what I have been saying. I know the whole world has made countless contributions to every field before and after America. It is not fair to say that American invented everything, because it's not true. I merely tried to prove a point.luvwater... hahaha I DID study our invention of the toilet paper in grade school. And I think it may be more important than when Morse invented the first working telegraph, or when Scotsman Alexander Graham Bell gave us the research we needed to invent the telephone, or when our people invented the first TV. Toilet paper is the quintessential achievement of man. more

Resolved Question: Shot in the dark...TD Canada Visa Telephone Banking "Muzak" song?

Resolved Question: random-trini joke...u no ur trini if....?

You refer to all salt crackers as "Crix". You recognize the names Dave Elcock and Rennie B. You know the meaning of the word "obzokie". You point with your lips...and you give directions with your hands... even if it's in another state (yuh jus go up de road and when yuh see...) You go to parties for the food... and the word free never quite had the same meaning. You nod your head upwards to greet someone... and sideways when the joke stale. Your recipe for making orange juice is plenty water, plenty sugar, plenty ice and only 2 orange... and "ah pak ah red kool-aid tuh stretch it..." You say "boy" at the beginning of a sentence and "man" at the end of it... and the words "yes we" doesn't refer to any people... You hate to wait in long lines, a habit you adopted from the days of pushing to get into "pit" to see a movie. 'Priority' doesn't have anything to do with what you have to do right away. You always turn around when someone says "Psssssssst"... except for when you make out the person first and you're duckin' them. You say "Soooo looooong" instead of "Yes, I'm done" when somebody asked you if you finished the job already ...even if you don't even know what job that person is talking about. You have "knick knacks" all over your home... and a glass cabinet or a space saver to put them in. You put ketchup and peppersauce on your pizza. Anchovies? Yuh lossin it or what? You make a drink and ice cream with peanut butter but you never put it on bread with jelly... but you might put it on your dixie biscuits You think eating salted cod fish and fried bread is a great morning meal. Your cupboards are full of canned corned beef, pepper sauce and red beans and baked beans ...and a dry coconut for the pelau. You think steak is a waste of good meat. You rather cut it up and stew it with some potatoes instead ... or curry it and make roti. You use your finger to measure the water when cooking rice. . You have shares in kool-aid. You bring home food from a party. The word "storm" has nothing to do with the weather. . You hate the saying "Today is a beautiful day" from someone who don't know where you came from. "What goin on these days?" and "I jus dey" mean "Hello, how are you?" and I'm fine" respectively. You think your rum and Carib beer are the best in the world and you hate it when nobody heard of them ...and you'll probably have some in your cabinet at home...wherever you may live. You put ice in your beer ...and you chew the ice when you're finished with the beer. Drinking wine is too sissy ...wine is for fruits. You still say "Father Christmas" and "Old Years' night" ...and "dis August holidays" actually start in July. . You show disappointment by sucking on your teeth (steupsing) ...and you can conjugate "ah steupse" by age four (three if yuh smart ) You still call a soda a "sweet drink" and an avocado, a "zaboca". .and you go to the shoprite clerk and ask them "whe allyuh have de breez?" meaning "where is the laundry detergent?". You say "whappenin" even at a funeral. You tell the host "Good Night" when you arrive at someone's home in the evening. You wash the "wares" after having dinner. When someone pays you a compliment, you say "Doh mamaguy meh". . When someone sympathises with you, you comment "Yuh think it easy?". You refer to all sweet coloured juice as "Kool-Aid".. . You call a quarter a "schilling" when this really means 24 cents. You know that using "blue" makes white clothes whiter. Just because something is called a "bake" you don't assume that it indicates the way it was cooked. . You have at least one relative living in either England, Canada, or the US. . You either see, speak to, lime with, or hear about at least one of your "ex's" regularly. You know that a washy-kong bears no relationship to King Kong. You know about straightening, pressing, S-curls and Gherri curls regardless of your ethnic background. You have cancelled plans because of rain even when you're going to be indoors ...Rain is also a legitimate reason to be late for a rendez-vous... or to miss work. You know someone with a gold tooth. You have been to at least one party where you have seen the sun rise. You know someone named after either: flora:- Flora, Fern, Rose, Lily, Petal, Holly (B.) or colour:- Blackie, Blue, Pinky, Violet, Hazel or maybe even a car:- Cressida, Nissan. You know the meanings of: "washing wares"; "straightening a room"; "bodice"; "sucking yuh teeth"; "cut-eye"; "hot foot"; "bouff". All dish washing detergents are called "Squezy". . You still give people (youself included) "meggies". A rubber is an eraser. You know of at least one person who wakes up at 4am to LISTEN to cricket from Australia / New Zealand on the RADIO. On at least one occasion you have: been told that you have a cold in some part of your anatomy other than your head or chest and/or had a virus named after something popular with the times eg. Bionic, Ninja, the Hijab, the Hangman and the Sting. Despite lack of interest, someone has tried to convince you of the benefits of taking a purge, or becoming a born again. You can feel cold when it's 25°C. No matter how old you are, you still call your parents Mummy and Daddy. You use baby powder. You still eat fries with ketchup AND MUSTARD. You call fries "chips". You pronounce words in plural, even though it's meant to be singular, eg."gimme ah COKES" or "ah GRAPES". You say "FLIM" (film), "AXE" (ask) or "PITIAH"(picture), "STATELLITE" (satellite), "CUTLASH" (cutlass). . You know what "Wukking a 10-days" is, and know darn well it's going to take much longer than 10 days. . You know the meaning of several Indian words, eg. Resolved Question: Did the Allies and Jews lie about the Holocaust?

Nearly everyone has heard of Auschwitz, the German wartime concentration camp where many prisoners -- most of them Jewish -- were reportedly exterminated, especially in gas chambers. Auschwitz is widely regarded as the most terrible Nazi extermination center. The camp's horrific reputation cannot, however, be reconciled with the facts. Scholars Challenge Holocaust Story Astonishing as it may seem, more and more historians and engineers have been challenging the widely accepted Auschwitz story. These "revisionist" scholars do not dispute the fact that large numbers of Jews were deported to the camp, or that many died there, particularly of typhus and other diseases. But the compelling evidence they present shows that Auschwitz was not an extermination center and that the story of mass killings in "gas chambers" is a myth. The Auschwitz Camps The Auschwitz camp complex was set up in 1940 in what is now south-central Poland. Large numbers of Jews were deported there between 1942 and mid-1944. The main camp was known as Auschwitz I. Birkenau, or Auschwitz II, was supposedly the main extermination center, and Monowitz, or Auschwitz III, was a large industrial center where gasoline was produced from coal. In addition there were dozens of smaller satellite camps devoted to the war economy. Four Million Victims? At the postwar Nuremberg Tribunal, the Allies charged that the Germans exterminated four million people at Auschwitz. This figure, which was invented by the Soviets, was uncritically accepted for many years. It often appeared in major American newspapers and magazines, for example. [1] Today no reputable historian, not even those who generally accept the extermination story, believes this figure. Israeli Holocaust historian Yehuda Bauer said in 1989 that it is time to finally acknowledge the familiar four million figure is a deliberate myth. In July 1990 the Auschwitz State Museum in Poland, along with Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust Center, suddenly announced that altogether perhaps one million people (both Jews and non-Jews) died there. Neither institution would say how many of these people were killed, nor were any estimates given of the numbers of those supposedly gassed. [2] One prominent Holocaust historian, Gerald Reitlinger, has estimated that perhaps 700,000 or so Jews perished at Auschwitz. More recently, Holocaust historian Jean-Claude Pressac has estimated that about 800,000 persons -- of whom 630,000 were Jewish -- perished at Auschwitz. While even such lower figures are incorrect, they show how the Auschwitz story has changed drastically over the years. [3] Bizarre Tales At one time it was seriously claimed that Jews were systematically electrocuted at Auschwitz. American newspapers, citing a Soviet eyewitness report from liberated Auschwitz, told readers in February 1945 that the methodical Germans had killed Jews there using an "electric conveyor belt on which hundreds of persons could be electrocuted simultaneously [and] then moved on into furnaces. They were burned almost instantly, producing fertilizer for nearby cabbage fields." [4] And at the Nuremberg Tribunal, chief U.S. prosecutor Robert Jackson charged that the Germans used a "newly invented" device to instantaneously "vaporize" 20,000 Jews near Auschwitz "in such a way that there was no trace left of them." [5] No reputable historian now accepts either of these fanciful tales. The Höss 'Confession' A key Holocaust document is the "confession" of former Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss of April 5, 1946, which was submitted by the U.S. prosecution at the main Nuremberg trial. [6] Although it is still widely cited as solid proof for the Auschwitz extermination story, it is actually a false statement that was obtained by torture. Many years after the war, British military intelligence sergeant Bernard Clarke described how he and five other British soldiers tortured the former commandant to obtain his "confession." Höss himself privately explained his ordeal in these words: "Certainly, I signed a statement that I killed two and half million Jews. I could just as well have said that it was five million Jews. There are certain methods by which any confession can be obtained, whether it is true or not." [7] Even historians who generally accept the Holocaust extermination story now acknowledge that many of the specific statements made in the Höss "affidavit" are simply not true. For one thing, no serious scholar now claims that anything like two and a half or three million people perished in Auschwitz. The Höss "affidavit" further alleges that Jews were already being exterminated by gas in the summer of 1941 at three other camps: Belzec, Treblinka and Wolzek. The "Wolzek" camp mentioned by Höss is a total invention. No such camp existed, and the name is no longer mentioned in Holocaust literature. Moreover, the story these days by those who believe in the Holocaust legend is that gassings of Jews did not begin at Auschwitz, Treblinka, or Belzec until sometime in 1942. No Documentary Evidence Many thousands of secret German documents dealing with Auschwitz were confiscated after the war by the Allies. Not a single one refers to a policy or program of extermination. In fact, the extermination story cannot be reconciled with the documentary evidence. Many Jewish Inmates Unable to Work For example, it is often claimed that all Jews at Auschwitz who were unable to work were immediately killed. Jews who were too old, young, sick, or weak were supposedly gassed on arrival, and only those who could be worked to death were temporarily kept alive. But the evidence shows that, in fact, a very high percentage of the Jewish inmates were not able to work, and were nevertheless not killed. For example, an internal German telex message dated Sept. 4, 1943, from the chief of the Labor Allocation department of the SS Economic and Administrative Main Office (WVHA), reported that of 25,000 Jewish inmates in Auschwitz, only 3,581 were able to work, and that all of the remaining Jewish inmates -- some 21,500, or about 86 percent -- were unable to work. [8] This is also confirmed in a secret report dated April 5, 1944, on "security measures in Auschwitz" by Oswald Pohl, head of the SS concentration camp system, to SS chief Heinrich Himmler. Pohl reported that there was a total of 67,000 inmates in the entire Auschwitz camp complex, of whom 18,000 were hospitalized or disabled. In the Auschwitz II camp (Birkenau), supposedly the main extermination center, there were 36,000 inmates, mostly female, of whom "approximately 15,000 are unable to work." [9] These two documents simply cannot be reconciled with the Auschwitz extermination story. The evidence shows that Auschwitz-Birkenau was established primarily as a camp for Jews who were not able to work, including the sick and elderly, as well as for those who were temporarily awaiting assignment to other camps. That's the considered view of Dr. Arthur Butz of Northwestern University, who also says that this was the reason for the unusually high death rate there. [10] Princeton University history professor Arno Mayer, who is Jewish, acknowledges in a recent book about the "final solution" that more Jews perished at Auschwitz as a result of typhus and other "natural" causes than were executed. [11] Anne Frank Perhaps the best known Auschwitz inmate was Anne Frank, who is known around the world for her famous diary. But few people know that thousands of Jews, including Anne and her father, Otto Frank, "survived" Auschwitz. The 15-year-old girl and her father were deported from the Netherlands to Auschwitz in September 1944. Several weeks later, in the face of the advancing Soviet army, Anne was evacuated along with many other Jews to the Bergen-Belsen camp, where she died of typhus in March 1945. Her father came down with typhus in Auschwitz and was sent to the camp hospital to recover. He was one of thousands of sick and feeble Jews who were left behind when the Germans abandoned the camp in January 1945, shortly before it was overrun by the Soviets. He died in Switzerland in 1980. If the German policy had been to kill Anne Frank and her father, they would not have survived Auschwitz. Their fate, tragic though it was, cannot be reconciled with the extermination story. Allied Propaganda The Auschwitz gassing story is based in large part on the hearsay statements of former Jewish inmates who did not personally see any evidence of extermination. Their beliefs are understandable, because rumors about gassings at Auschwitz were widespread. Allied planes dropped large numbers of leaflets, written in Polish and German, on Auschwitz and the surrounding areas which claimed that people were being gassed in the camp. The Auschwitz gassing story, which was an important part of the Allied wartime propaganda effort, was also broadcast to Europe by Allied radio stations. [12] Survivor Testimony Former inmates have confirmed that they saw no evidence of extermination at Auschwitz. An Austrian woman, Maria Vanherwaarden, testified about her camp experiences in a Toronto District Court in March 1988. She was interned in Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1942 for having sexual relations with a Polish forced laborer. On the train trip to the camp, a Gypsy woman told her and the others that they would all be gassed at Auschwitz. Upon arrival, Maria and the other women were ordered to undress and go into a large concrete room without windows to take a shower. The terrified women were sure that they were about to die. But then, instead of gas, water came out of the shower heads. Auschwitz was no vacation center, Maria confirmed. She witnessed the death of many fellow inmates by disease, particularly typhus, and quite a few committed suicide. But she saw no evidence at all of mass killings, gassings, or of any extermination program. [13] A Jewish woman named Marika Frank arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau from Hungary in July 1944, when 25,000 Jews were supposedly gassed and cremated daily. She likewise testified after the war that she heard and saw nothing of "gas chambers" during the time she was interned there. She heard the gassing stories only later. [14] Inmates Released Auschwitz internees who had served their sentences were released and returned to their home countries. If Auschwitz had actually been a top secret extermination center, the Germans would certainly not have released inmates who "knew" what was happening in the camp. [15] Himmler Orders Death Rate Reduced In response to the deaths of many inmates due to disease, especially typhus, the German authorities responsible for the camps ordered firm counter-measures. The head of the SS camp administration office sent a directive dated Dec. 28, 1942, to Auschwitz and the other concentration camps. It sharply criticized the high death rate of inmates due to disease, and ordered that "camp physicians must use all means at their disposal to significantly reduce the death rate in the various camps." Furthermore, it ordered: The camp doctors must supervise more often than in the past the nutrition of the prisoners and, in cooperation with the administration, submit improvement recommendations to the camp commandants ... The camp doctors are to see to it that the working conditions at the various labor places are improved as much as possible. Finally, the directive stressed that "the Reichsfhrer SS [Heinrich Himmler] has ordered that the death rate absolutely must be reduced." [16] German Camp Regulations Official German camp regulations make clear that Auschwitz was not an extermination center. They ordered: [17] New arrivals in the camp are to be given a thorough medical examination, and if there is any doubt [about their health], they must be sent to quarantine for observation. Prisoners who report sick must be examined that same day by the camp physician. If necessary, the physician must transfer the prisoners to a hospital for professional treatment. The camp physician must regularly inspect the kitchen regarding the preparation of the food and the quality of the food supply. Any deficiencies that may arise must be reported to the camp commandant. Special care should be given in the treatment of accidents, in order not to impair the full productivity of the prisoners. Prisoners who are to be released or transfered must first be brought before the camp physician for medical examination. Telltale Aerial Photos Detailed aerial reconnaissance photographs taken of Auschwitz-Birkenau on several random days in 1944 (during the height of the alleged extermination period there) were made public by the CIA in 1979. These photos show no trace of piles of corpses, smoking crematory chimneys or masses of Jews awaiting death, things that have been repeatedly alleged, and all of which would have been clearly visible if Auschwitz had been the extermination center it is said to have been. [18] Absurd Cremation Claims Cremation specialists have confirmed that thousands of corpses could not possibly have been cremated every day throughout the spring and summer of 1944 at Auschwitz, as commonly alleged. For example, Mr. Ivan Lagace, manager of a large crematory in Calgary, Canada, testified in court in April 1988 that the Auschwitz cremation story is technically impossible. The allegation that 10,000 or even 20,000 corpses were burned every day at Auschwitz in the summer of 1944 in crematories and open pits is simply "preposterous" and "beyond the realm of reality," he declared under oath. [19] Gassing Expert Refutes Extermination Story America's leading gas chamber expert, Boston engineer Fred A. Leuchter, carefully examined the supposed "gas chambers" in Poland and concluded that the Auschwitz gassing story is absurd and technically impossible. Leuchter is the foremost specialist on the design and installation of gas chambers used in the United States to execute convicted criminals. For example, he designed a gas chamber facility for the Missouri state penitentiary. In February 1988 he carried out a detailed onsite examination of the "gas chambers" at Auschwitz, Birkenau and Majdanek in Poland, which are either still standing or only partially in ruins. In sworn testimony to a Toronto court and in a technical report, Leuchter described every aspect of his investigation. He concluded by emphatically declaring that the alleged gassing facilities could not possibly have been used to kill people. Among other things, he pointed out that the so-called "gas chambers" were not properly sealed or vented to kill human beings without also killing German camp personnel. [20] Dr. William B. Lindsey, a research chemist employed for 33 years by the Dupont Corporation, likewise testified in a 1985 court case that the Auschwitz gassing story is technically impossible. Based on a careful on-site examination of the "gas chambers" at Auschwitz, Birkenau and Majdanek, and on his years of experience, he declared: "I have come to the conclusion that no one was willfully or purposefully killed with Zyklon B [hydrocyanic acid gas] in this manner. I consider it absolutely impossible." [21] Summary The Auschwitz extermination story originated as wartime propaganda. Now, more than 60 years after the end of the Second World War, it is time to take another, more objective look at this highly polemicized chapter of history. The Auschwitz legend is the core of the Holocaust story. If hundreds of thousands of Jews were not systematically killed there, as alleged, one of the great myths of our time collapses. Artificially maintaining the hatreds and passions of the past prevents genuine reconciliation and lasting peace. Revisionism promotes historical awareness and international understanding. For nine years he served as editor of the IHR's Journal of Historical Review. http://www.ihr.org/leaflets/auschwitz.shtml Commentary From Ted Twietmeyer tedtw@frontiernet.net 1-30-5 This article was well-written and researched. And it also means that the Shindler's List film is fiction as well, which also depicts countless people being gassed daily. As for the crematories, I completely concur with the commentary in the article. The Facts: It takes about 70 minutes (according to one furnace manufacturer's spec sheet, see [1] ) to cremate a body even today. This is a burner of 400KW. If each crematory furnace were to cremate 20.6 bodies in every 24 hour period running 7 days a week, then to handle 20,000 bodies a day would require more than 971 furnaces running non-stop, AND sufficient fuel to keep them all operating. And all this, in a Germany that was always short on fuel? Preposterous of historians to never look at the numbers! Ted Twietmeyer [1] - Furnace spec sheet with cycle time: http://www.ati-furnace.com/en/four_2/shema.htm Comment From William Purcell 1-31-5 I haven't read the entirety of Mark Weber's essay yet - but one fact that should ALWAYS be brought out - particularly in regard to this so-called "60th" commemoration of the ... er ... the ... "liberation" of Auschwitz in January of 1945 by the Red Army of the Communist Soviet Union is this fact: that camp in Poland - Auschwitz - merely underwent a CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT at THAT time, ie from "Nazi" to "Commie." It most definitely was NOT 'liberated' no matter how one looks at it. That camp in Auschwitz was CONTINUED to be run as a concentration camp up until the year 1951 (!!!!) by the Communist USSR under Stalin until two years before Stalin's death when it was then converted (1951) into an official Communist 'State Museum' (read: anti-German Propaganda Factory) in then Communist Poland. From 1945 up until 1951 when it finally finished its role as a functioning death camp - some 250,000 victims were put to death there. Victims of the Commies this time. It point of actually documented fact - this total of Stalinist victims actually exceeded the previous occupiers ' total by about three times : ie the ACTUAL number of persons who died in Auschwitz between 1940 and 1945 when the Germans were running that place was some 75,000 souls - 63,000 of whom were JEWISH - few if any of whom ever died from any "gassing." Most died from the wartime typhus epidemic and severe malnutrition-induced illness None of the 250,000 victims during the Stalinist period (1945 up to 1951) ever died of any "gassing" there, either, for that matter. Most died from either being worked to death as slave laborers - or died of disease and starvation. A few died from firing squad style executions. That's it. Those are the ACTUAL, REAL historical facts about the real Auschwitz. All of the rest is Propaganda. It had originally been claimed that "over 4.5 million" of the "six million Jews" had been "gassed" there. This figure went through many, many permutations and revisions by the JEWS THEMSELVES until about 1985, when Dr. Francisek Piper - the very one whom the American Jew, David Cole, interviewed in his now famous video - the one in which Piper admits that the "gas chamber" that was always shown to the tourists there - was actually built in 1947! - two years AFTER the war was over. see: www.codoh.com see: www.ihr.org see: www.vho.org It was Dr. Piper, Auschwitz Chief Archivist and historian for 27 years, who first 'officially' lowered the number to "1.5 million" and then, by 1988 - again lowered to "1.1 million." So, then what happened to the 'extra' 3 or 4 MILLION Jews? Nothing. The propagandists have kept up the "6 million" figure - in spite of all of the official reductions that have made over the years. Van Pelt, a Dutch Jew, who was the big Jewish "expert " on "The Holocaust" by the time of the David Irving 'trial', maintained that "500,000" Jews had been "gassed" there. Yet another fantastic downward reivison of the original 4.5 million figure. Yet, I understand that they are now back to the infamous "1.1 million" figure for the 'annniversary.' Comment By Mark Weber 2-5-5 When considering the story of the lost 'Six Million', most overlook an obvious and crucial source of data: the 1938 World Almanac which listed the populations of countries by religion. If you add up the numbers for the all European countries - less the Brittish Isles and the Americas - there was total population of roughly 6 Million Jews in the whole of Europe when the war broke out. There were about a half million in Germany. This simple and irrefutable fact clearly debunks that claim that '6 million' were killed...or there would not have been any Jewish people left to tell a story. It would have meant that Hitler completed his supposed goals for Europe. Most people should be able to find a copy of the 1938 Almanac in thier library. I hope this sheds some new, clear and logical light on the story. more

Resolved Question: 24 Season 7 Idea?

24 Season 7 Idea Jack has attempted to start a new life by dating a woman named Freesia Collins. He has also moved to Quebec, Canada. As a twist, Jack discovers Freesia works for CTU Minneapolis in Minnesota and that she lied about her job as a teacher. He learns this when he checks the messages from the house they live in. Jack is upset about her lies, but she says that CTU Los Angeles has come upon some intel that suggests that terrorists are attempting to pull off something like 9/11. They are going to hijack a plane from Quebec into New York in about two hours, and they will attack the newly built Farrell Building there. Jack doesn’t care. He wonders when Freesia was going to tell him this, she says she wasn’t, she was just going to break up with him that day and leave the house. Jack is astonished, then he realizes she asked to move to Quebec last month just because of this intel, and he also realizes she was going to be the agent to go on the plane and attempt to stop this. She then receives a call from Bill Buchanan and he asks if she is ready to go on the plane. Out of impulse Jack grabs the phone and demands that he goes on the plane so that Freesia doesn’t die. Bill is stunned to learn that Freesia had been dating Jack, but he says he will let Jack go. Freesia asks Jack not to go for her, but he says he is going because he doesn’t want her to possibly die. He also says he cannot stand another painful relationship with lies involved and so he breaks up with her. Over time Jack gets on the plane with a gun that he buys. He gets on with the gun because he explains the situation and that his mission is to be covert. After the plane takes off and Jack manages to establish contact with CTU Los Angeles and CTU Minneapolis things switch back over to Freesia. It is revealed when she gets a phone call from a terrorist that she was supposed to get on the plane and initiate the attack. She turns out to be a Canadian separatist and a terrorist. While Jack is on the plane Chloe, who is still pregnant, begins searching names on the ticket list of the plane and then she will cross-reference their names with their known terrorist archive. As the search for the terrorist continues Freesia, who is really named Jeanette Bordeaux, meets with three men who have stolen a U.S. Military plane that is very, very fast. Apparently it could get to New York before the plane does. Their Plan B is that once she gets there she will use a device to cause the attack. It is later revealed once she gets to New York that the U.S. will be forced to shoot down the plane because that will be the only way to stop the possible hijacking, and her device will override the missiles they will shoot and cause them to hit the Farrell Building, and this will be better because it will look like the U.S. attempting a false flag attack on themselves. In the middle of Chloe’s search she realizes her water has broken and Morris has to rush her off to the hospital. Bill doesn’t know how to run the search and so he has to quickly get two replacements from Division. After the replacements come the search continues and the replacements learn that no one on board has any terrorist history. Jack suddenly realizes that Freesia was going to be on the plane, and he asks them to search her name. They begin to, but then Wayne Palmer, who is still the president and has managed to recover, orders them to shoot the plane down. To make a long story short things go according to Jeanette’s Plan B, and she overrides the missiles and the Farrell Building is blown up. Jack realizes that he was set up to distract the U.S. while Freesia set up the missile override. He has his theory confirmed when the replacements reveal that Freesia was an alias and that her real name is Jeanette Bordeaux. Back in New York, as the citizens panic with what looks like another 9/11, Jeanette manages to escape. She enters a gas station and she asks a man there if his car is the Corvette outside that was just filled outside. He says it is and she says she is turned on by Corvettes. She then lures this man into the bathroom and says she will have sex with him, when he gets in the bathroom she drowns him in the toilet. Then she leaves with his credit card. She manages to get the gas pump next to the Corvette going with the card and she pulls out a lighter and causes an explosion with the pump. This kills herself and it blows up the entire gas station. Jack manages to be grounded and he begins showing cops Jeanette’s photo from his wallet at the airport. He learns from one cop that amidst all of the panic at the moment someone in his unit managed to spot this woman. He gets a report back from this cop who says the gas station she just went into just blew up. Jack knows this was no accident. Simultaneously the people in Washington D.C. see the attack on the Farrell Building as a false flag since the news reported that the missiles came from American fighter jets. They begin a riot outside of the White House. Wayne and his staff escape in a helicopter that is being sent immediately to New York to get a hold of the situation. The rioters manage to get inside the White House and they start a fire. Jack calls CTU Los Angeles and tells them that Jeanette caused an explosion at a gas station and thus committed suicide. The replacements, Gerald Perish and Erica Amos, reveal to Jack that Jeanette works for a group of Canadian separatists. The leader is named Pierre Fache. Jack wants background information on Fache. Back in Quebec, Fache is aptly watching events occur on the television. He receives a call and is told to start some shooting at the White House. Fache then calls a SWAT person who is at the riot at the White House and he tells him to start a shooting. This SWAT person then starts shooting as many rioters as he can. This triggers more shootings and more deaths. In the midst of all of this a fire truck team manages to put out the fire on the White House. Some SWAT agents move in on the house and receive orders from the agent who Fache called to shoot all of the rioters who are on the inside. They begin shooting everyone. As the riot gets hotter one rioter sees Wayne’s helicopter and grabs a SWAT agent’s gun and shoots up at it. The pilot of the helicopter says the engine has been shot from the ground. Slowly the helicopter begins to go down. Jack is aptly watching the news at the airport and hears of the breaking news that Wayne’s copter is going down. He quickly calls Wayne’s cell phone and he directs Wayne in how to safely land the helicopter. He then tells Wayne that he will need to keep running from the White House because the rioters will try to kill him still. The SWAT agent calls Fache and tells him that Wayne managed to land the helicopter, Fache is outraged and demands that he goes and kills Wayne so that it looks lie not even SWAT thinks the attack on the Farrell Building was an accident. Jack demands that he get a helicopter so he can get to Washington D.C. and attempt to stop the fighting. Meanwhile, an agent from CTU Minneapolis, who is named Phil Anders, is sent by Bill Buchanan to go into Quebec and see if he can locate and capture Fache. Jack is in the helicopter he requested and is heading to D.C. Quickly, Fache receives another call; it is revealed that the person on the other line is ex-Vice President Noah Daniels. Daniels says that he did not fund this attack to be failed; he demands that Wayne be found and killed. When Daniels hangs up it is seen that out of the window of his house a sniper is watching from some bushes. Daniels gets on a radio and says into it, “There! Fache is handling the assassination of Wayne Palmer! Happy?” And the sniper answers back, “It is good to know that threatening your life has made all of this happen!” Meanwhile, Wayne enters a restaurant with the pilot of the helicopter. Here he demands to speak to the manager. The manager asks what could possibly concern the president. Wayne tells him there are rioters outside of the White House and he wishes to hide out here, disguised as a waiter, so that the rioters can’t find him. The manager gives him a waiter’s uniform and comments on how the safety of this country is a fantasy. Soon, the SWAT team agent comes into the restaurant and shoots up the ceiling. He says he saw the president walk in and demands to know where he is. He says he must either kill the president or kill everyone in the restaurant. Wayne jumps out along with the pilot and they attack the agent. Wayne manages to stab the man’s hand with a fork and this causes him to drop his gun. Wayne then begins to interrogate the agent. Panic has of course broken out at the restaurant. The agent will not say whom he is working for, and Wayne says he knows who can help them get information out of him. When the pilot guesses Wayne means Jack, Wayne says no. Wayne says he is going to go to Noah Daniels’s house and see what Noah can do. They get the SWAT agent’s keys and get into his car. Meanwhile, Phil Anders lands his helicopter in Quebec near a cabin. Phil goes into the cabin with his gun drawn and a suitcase in his hand. After a little search of the cabin Phil finds Fache. Fache asks if Phil brought the package. Phil opens the suitcase and it is revealed that this is one of the suitcase nukes Fayed had threatened to use. “Fayed failed at using this. It is time to finish the job!” says Fache. Phil says that some CTU agents may have followed him here since he took the nuke and they probably noticed. Fache tells him to shoot any agents who come while he gets in another plane like the one Jeanette used to fly over Chicago and then blow up the city. When Phil asks what he should do if there are too many agents Fache says, “A bullet to the head will fix that problem.” He then leaves the cabin. Wayne gets to Noah’s house in the car. On the radio, the sniper asks who has pulled up. Noah says he doesn’t know. When the sniper sees that it is Wayne he says he will shoot Wayne. Quickly Noah runs out into his driveway and runs in front of Wayne and takes the bullet. Wayne sees what’s going on and he gets down. Wayne begins firing at the sniper with the gun he got from the SWAT agent. As Noah is dying he says that the sniper threatened to kill him if he did not cause Wayne’s death. Wayne manages to shoot the sniper, but not fatally. As he goes over to the sniper Jack sees Wayne on his PDA in the helicopter via satellite and he begins to land. When Jack touches down Wayne tells Jack about everything that has happened. Jack demands to interrogate both the sniper and the SWAT agent. Jack calls Bill and tells him about the sniper and everything. Bill tells him to interrogate the captured men. Bill then receives a call from CTU Minneapolis. They tell him Phil Anders stole the suitcase nuke they had possessed from CTU Los Angeles and they believe he gave it to Fache. Bill says this is great Déjà Vu. After he hangs up he suddenly begins to twitch and to fall over. The other CTU agents see this and they call in the medical team. Meanwhile, Jack is interrogating the sniper. The sniper says he wants immunity before he says anything. Wayne grants it because he doesn’t know what else to do. The sniper says an Asian man that he only met once hired him and he doesn’t know his name. Jack asks if the sniper ever had any pictures of the man that he could send to CTU to locate the man who hired him. The sniper says he has photos at his house. Jack says he wants to be brought to the sniper’s house, but first he wants information from the SWAT agent. Jack then gets a call from CTU. They inform Jack that Bill just had a heart attack and that he’s just gone to the hospital. Jack asks if anyone knew of Bill’s heart condition. No one knew about it, and they suspect it was stress-related. Jack is in a state of shock. They also Jack who he thinks is qualified to run CTU. Jack says Mike Doyle is. This is the end of the call. Jack then demands that the SWAT agent tells him whom he is working for. After Jack threatens to use a chainsaw he finds in Noah’s garage to saw off one of the SWAT agent’s arms he reveals he received phone calls from Fache that were orders. He was hired by Fache to start shootings at the White House and then to assassinate Wayne. When Jack asks what caused Fache to attack the U.S., the SWAT agent says Fache is a terrorist extremist who was funded by Noah to cause these attacks. The sniper says that Noah funded Fache because he had started watching his house and threatened to kill him. Jack realizes that everything revolves around him finding the man who hired the sniper and then arresting him. Meanwhile, Mike Doyle is instated as CTU Los Angeles’s Director. He then receives a call from CTU Minneapolis. The CTU Minneapolis Director, Carl Francis, tells him that Phil Anders was captured up in Quebec. They were told that Fache escaped with the suitcase nuke. Mike was not aware of any of this, and says he wants a recap. He tells Carl that he is the new director since Bill had a heart attack. Carl informs Mike about everything. Then as Jack as driving to the sniper’s house Mike calls him and informs him of the suitcase nuke. Jack also comments on the Déjà Vu. Jack tells Mike to locate the plane Fache escaped in and to shoot it down. Mike says this wouldn’t be the best idea since this could trigger the nuke to go off. Jack says he’ll come up with something and call back. Jack pulls up to the sniper’s house. Jack tells Wayne to wait in the car, since he has gone with him. Jack and the sniper enter the house. Suddenly Jack sees a bomb. In his haste he jumps out of the window as the bomb goes off. Wayne is shocked to see this, but before he can react two vans come by and armed men jump out. They shoot both the pilot and the SWAT agent, but they grab Wayne and kidnap him. Jack wakes up a little too late. At the hospital Bill is seen awake. A doctor comes in and tells him he had a near fatal heart attack. He will for now need to stay away from CTU because the stress-level could cause him to have a second attack that could kill him. The doctor recommends rest and so Bill is left to sleep. Jack comes to and sees that the house was indeed blown up. He then finds an ashen photograph in the debris. He sees that this photo is of Cheng Zhi. Jack realizes Cheng hired the sniper and thus was behind everything that happened today. “Son of a bitch!” Jack says. Jack calls Mike and has him confirm that Cheng is indeed in holding in Africa. Mike says that after looking at the archive it looks like Cheng’s file was destroyed. Jack tells Mike about what he found. Things switch over to Africa where Cheng is seen waling calmly through a village there. He pulls out a satellite phone and calls someone. It’s Fache. Cheng tells Fache to bring the nuke to him as promised so that he can retrieve the circuit board and thus aid China against Russia lie he had planned before. Fache says he doesn’t care about what Cheng wants; he just wants to blow up Chicago as he had planned. Cheng demands that Fache does as he’s ordered to do. Fache asks Cheng how he can stop him when he’s in Africa. Fache then hangs up. Cheng calls some mercenaries and tells them that Fache is no longer working for him. He tells them to stop Fache’s plane and to obtain the nuke. They can blow up any city they want with it, but they must get the circuit board back to China where it can be analyzed and thus it can be decrypted for Chinese Military use. The mercenaries are already in a plane. They are right next to Fache’s plane. Fache sees how Cheng could stop him from Africa. Quickly Fache shoots the mercenaries’ plane down and it crashes. At CTU Los Angeles Mike hears about Fache’s plane crashing in Chicago from Carl. Mike tells Carl to send a TAC team from CTU Chicago to the crash site along with a HAZMAT team. Carl goes ahead and does that. Fache climbs out of the plane alive with the nuke in hand. He immediately opens it. Out of nowhere comes the CTU Chicago TAC Team. They ask that he step away from the device. He refuses and is about to detonate the bomb when suddenly the mercenaries show up and kill Fache. A gunfight ensues and the TAC Team is taken out. As the HAZMAT team arrives the mercenaries escape with the nuke. The HAZMAT Team calls Carl and tells him about the mercenaries and their escape with the weapon. Carl hangs up and then receives another call. It is from Cheng. Cheng says that he is upset with Carl because he organized Cheng’s escape, but failed to coordinate his trip back to the United States. Carl apologizes and hangs up. Carl then calls Jack. Carl reveals to Jack that he coordinated Cheng’s escape, but now he wants to help Jack stop the terrorists by sending Cheng to Washington D.C. where Jack can question him and get some more information. Jack is grateful for this opportunity and asks Carl if he knows where the mercenaries are bringing the nuke. Carl says he will call Cheng and find out, but first he must reveal himself to his co-workers and explain the situation. Cheng then calls the men in the vans that have kidnapped Wayne. He tells them to allow him to talk to Wayne. When Wayne finds out Cheng is behind everything he is shocked. Cheng says his men have control of one of the nukes Fayed had used before and that Wayne must let Cheng get away with the circuit board or he will order the men to kill him. Wayne refuses and as a shocking twist Wayne is killed then and there. Jack is driving and he sees the vans that took away Wayne. Quickly, Jack shoots the vans’ tires and a gunfight ensues. Long story short, Jack kills all of the men and finds Wayne’s corpse. Jack yells out “Why did this have to happen? Why does everybody I care about die?” In surrender, Jack points his own gun at his head; he is about to commit suicide when the phone rings again. Jack throws away the gun and answers it. It’s Cheng and he asks if Wayne is dead. Jack reveals himself and tells him he knows about him being the mastermind of today’s attack. Cheng quickly hangs up. To make this story short Cheng calls Carl back and lets him know that the attack will take place in Washington D.C., then he calls the mercenaries who have the nuke and he tells them the nuke must go off in order to distract America so that Cheng can have the package delivered. When he hangs up a supersonic plane lands nearby. Inside the pilot, who is attached to Carl Francis back in Minneapolis, brings Cheng. Cheng grabs a gun and shoots him. Then he flies the plane by himself. Things twist some more, more plot would need to be written, but eventually the mercenaries arrive in Washington D.C., they manage to get in the White House. As a twist, they need the bomb activated properly by an engineer, who turns out to be Charles Logan, who has changed his name and grown a lot of hair to change his appearance. Jack finds out that after Logan was brought to the hospital in the last season he was saved by the doctors, and he managed to escape. He’s been living under the name Mitchell Flanders. The TAC team from Secret Service who will help him deal with the bomb meets Jack, but Jack soon gets a call from Cheng. Cheng tells him that “things are not as they seem” and that “soon there will be more deaths across the globe.” Cheng also tells Jack that his mercenaries have managed to compromise CTU Minneapolis and that Carl Francis is dead. While Cheng is on the phone Jack manages to trace Cheng’s phone, and it appears Cheng is not anywhere near Washington D.C., but he is actually in New York. Jack has Mike send a plane to bring him to New York. While the Secret Service TAC team surrounds the White House, where the terrorists have managed to bring the bomb, and military tanks show up, something goes wrong and Logan sets off the bomb. Washington D.C. is nuked. Logan had become suicidal, a side-plot, before this because he had lost his life, his wife, and his presidency. Cheng then lands his plane in New York and meets someone in a building. We do not see this person’s face until he is actually in a room with this person. The person is Kimberly Bauer, Jack’s daughter. She has with her another one of the nukes. Cheng manages thanks Kim for her hassle. Then he removes the circuit board and leaves Kim. Then he tells her, “What you have done here today will help change the world. Soon, China will rule the world!” Somehow Jack makes to New York just in time to watch Cheng’s plane get away. After all of this confusion, the Vice President, who has been instated as the new president, Jacob Gary, arrives on the scene and on the news announces that because Jack failed to stop Cheng that America will have no choice but to conduct war with the Russians as they had feared they might last season. At the end of all of this Cheng calls Jack again and tells him of how Kim helped him get the second nuke and thus, getting him the circuit board he desired. Jack soon finds Kim, and Mike tells Jack to shoot her right then and there, because if he doesn’t know she will most likely be sentenced to death anyway. Kim says she got into aiding the Chinese when Chase died, and she had gone to China for help. Instead she had ended up being recruited by Cheng. The season ends with Jack having to shoot Kim, and then he screams at himself for a minute, then a TAC team from CTU New York City shows up and one agent tries to stop Jack from committing suicide. The agent wrestles Jack for his gun and Jack is accidentally shot in the leg. This is not a serious injury, but for Jack’s own safety the handcuff him as they drag him off in an ambulance to receive immediate attention. My idea could not be posted because it was soooo long, but can someone name a good forum for me to post this on? more

Resolved Question: Do you believe internet radio will die May 15th 2007?

The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC has more than tripled the royalty rates for webcasters. This means that most internet streaming radio stations in the US and Canada will no longer be able to afford broadcasting their programs. Do you think this is fair considering the fact that commercial radio stations pay nothing to play their songs? Isn't playing a song on internet radio or commercial radio promoting the song? Is this fair that Clear Channel, which controls most of the music heard on the FM dial, gets away without paying anything. Are we going to be stuck listening to Justin Timerlake, Beyonce, or Bow-wow songs. Are we destined to hear the same 50 tired old classic rock songs? Will we never get to hear College rock, Ska, Garage, Eurodance, Big Band, Reggae or any of the hundreds of other formats available on internet radio? Do you like internet radio, commercial radio or satellite? more

Resolved Question: A new kind of politics?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0704060020apr06,1,1855420.story?coll=chi-news-hed&?track=sto-topstory MEXICANS IN CHICAGO: A NEW KIND OF POLITICS Influence on both sides of the border Activists' political power is rising in Chicago and their homeland, as they seek reforms through marches and money Advertisement By Antonio Olivo and Oscar Avila Tribune staff reporters April 6, 2007 To outsiders, the men and women gathered inside a sleepy West Side restaurant may have seemed unlikely power brokers: a janitor, a real estate agent and others hardly known outside their circuit of neighborhood dances and back-yard barbecues. Jose Luis Gutierrez, who plotted strategy with the group as a soccer match flickered on a nearby TV, was himself a wholesale grocer until last year. But Gutierrez is now a top aide to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, and he was joined at the table by leaders of Chicago-area Mexican immigrant clubs, the engines behind a new political movement that is making itself felt from Illinois to Michoacan. Gutierrez received smiling nods when he likened the political muscle of the region's 563,000 Mexican immigrants to the power of Irish-Americans in the 19th and 20th Centuries, who came to control the Chicago machine. In May, the strength of Mexicans will be on display when many of the region's 300 immigrant clubs -- known as "hometown associations" -- will help organize a march in downtown Chicago a year after their political coming-out party, demonstrations that flooded the Loop last spring and charged the national immigration debate. For decades Mexican hometown associations have functioned as social networks whose members pooled their money earned here to help build new schools or churches back in Mexico. But leaders in Chicago's largest immigrant group have a more ambitious worldview than their predecessors, even more than the ethnic blocs that preceded them decades ago. Some, like Gutierrez, wield growing influence in both countries. One morning, he's unveiling a blueprint for more immigrant services in Illinois as director of the state's Office of New Americans Policy and Advocacy. The next night, he's brainstorming with activists in his home state of Michoacan about a slate of candidates for Mexico's congress. An active role in Mexican politics might seem at odds with building political influence here. But Gutierrez and others say they form a budding new political consciousness among Mexican immigrants -- a "third nation" of sorts that transcends the border, advancing the community's cause on both sides. "The nation-state concept is changing," said Gutierrez, 46, who came to Chicago in 1986 and led one of the Midwest's largest federations of hometown associations. "You don't have to say, `I am Mexican,' or, `I am American.' You can be a good Mexican citizen and a good American citizen and not have that be a conflict of interest. Sovereignty is flexible." That concept worries some U.S. officials and scholars who see the dual loyalty as undermining the assimilation of Mexican immigrants. Irish, German and Polish immigrants eventually melded into Chicago's landscape, their ties to their native soil largely sentimental. But Mexican immigrants today are linked to their homeland like no group before, scholars say, connected by NAFTA, satellite TV, the Internet, cell phones and cheap non-stop flights. In Mexico, their power stems from the nearly $25 billion these immigrants send home every year, the country's second-highest source of income behind oil. Their political influence surfaces in places like Teloloapan, far up in the cactus-filled hills of the state of Guerrero, where a Chicago restaurateur helped build new roads and business. Grateful townspeople elected him mayor in a landslide. In the U.S., immigrants' power is driven by numbers and a growing deftness at the levers of this country's political machinery. That recently manifested itself in a fledgling political action committee called Mexicans for Political Progress, which raised $23,000 for Blagojevich's re-election and rallied volunteers to walk precincts during November's election. An unfolding movement Fabian Morales, a soft-spoken Realtor with a well-clipped mustache, stands at the center of the unfolding movement. He handled logistics for three massive immigration marches in Chicago last year -- including a four-day walk to suburban Batavia -- and co-founded Mexicans for Political Progress. After coming to Chicago in 1970, Morales helped launch one of the city's then-few hometown clubs, devoted to his tiny native village of Xonacatla, Guerrero. Back then, Xonacatla was without roads, potable water or electricity. It was a slow journey from other towns by foot or horseback, Morales said. The club members in Chicago resolved to change that. Collecting $50 to $100 at a time, Morales and others raised enough through barbecues and door-to-door soliciting to replace a house used for worship services with a towering marble church that rises from the green hillside. Morales has since helped develop CONFEMEX, an umbrella organization for most of the hometown clubs in the Midwest. Among other things, the group is a central voice in economic development in Mexico, representing an estimated $340 million in projects generated by U.S.-based hometown associations in the last five years, according to Mexican federal officials. "We want to focus on creating more jobs there so they don't have to think about emigrating," Morales said. The rising activity of hometown associations caught the eye of the Mexican government, which eventually created a "3-for-1" matching project, where federal, state and local governments split the cost of a new bridge or computer center with the U.S.-based groups. Those projects have given Mexican immigrants "a great moral authority" in their homeland, as well as political cachet, said Carlos Gonzalez, executive director of the Institute for Mexicans in the Exterior, or IME, a Mexican federal government agency that fosters stronger ties with expatriates. "During the 1970s, [Mexicans] called the people who left Mexico and acclimated to the U.S. 'pocho,' which, if you look in the dictionary, means 'spoiled fruit,' " Gonzalez said. "The change we've seen in the public perception of Mexicans in the exterior has been 180 degrees." In 2006, citizens abroad were allowed to vote in Mexican presidential elections for the first time. Leaders are also pushing for changes that would allow expatriates to vote in local elections and even hold elective offices while residing abroad. Recently, Gutierrez and others persuaded Michoacan to become the first state in Mexico to extend voting rights to expatriates. Their rationale: Almost half of those born in Michoacan, Zacatecas and several other Mexican states now live in the U.S. Timoteo "Alex" Manjarrez, 44, is among a small but growing number of Mexican immigrants making a bolder claim in their motherland. Arriving from his native town of Teloloapan, Guerrero, in 1980, Manjarrez spent 19 years in Chicago. The stocky, boyish-looking immigrant worked for years as a dishwasher at the Columbia Yacht Club and, eventually, became owner of three Mexican restaurants in the city. Fulfilling a desire shared by many immigrants, Manjarrez moved back to his native town in 1999 with enough money for his family to live comfortably. But the place he had longed for all those years was still frustratingly poor, despite the investments Manjarrez's hometown club made in new roads and other improvements. Manjarrez, who holds both Mexican and U.S. citizenship, settled in and quickly built a new health club and a hacienda-style restaurant named La Condesa, after the three he still owns in Chicago. In 2004, he ran for mayor of Teloloapan. With long-distance backing from his hometown club friends in Chicago, who sent money and telephoned friends and local officials on his behalf, Manjarrez won handily. 'The city that works' Since taking office, the man who sees Mayor Richard M. Daley as a political role model has pushed to remake Teloloapan into a Mexican version of "the city that works." The effort includes newly paved streets, a recreation center that replaces a local swamp known as "black waters," and a towering hotel being built privately by Manjarrez's family. Next to a new medical clinic, a donated Chicago ambulance sits in the parking lot. Its emblem has been painted over, but it serves as a reminder of the continued links Manjarrez has to his former city, where he maintains a home near Midway Airport, votes in U.S. elections and checks in on his businesses. Aurelio Santamaria Bahena, mayor of a town near Manjarrez's called Tlapehuala, labeled such changes "a blessing" for an area of Mexico dominated by crumbling lean-to houses and children in bare feet pulling bone-thin donkeys. But, as with other parts of the country where the immigrant handprint is deepening, the introduction of U.S.-style governance has also bred resentment. Local leaders of Manjarrez's own Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) are trying to drum him out of office, arguing he is too brash and condescending. The mayor counters the fight is about his efforts to take away "a plate of corruption that they've been able to eat from for years." The conflict was an uncomfortable backdrop during a recent PRD strategy meeting at a restaurant in Chilpancingo, Guerrero's capital. Headlines that morning featured a march against Manjarrez, orchestrated by his opponents. "People see you as an outsider," a worried Santamaria cautioned Manjarrez. "People don't think you see things as they are here." Manjarrez, wearing a black "La Condesa" windbreaker, patted his friend on the back and smiled. He had a media plan, one that might have made Daley proud. "We'll publish photos of the streets of Teloloapan before and after I came into office," Manjarrez said. "And, we'll ask the people: `Which would you prefer?' " That same week, Mexican immigrants from the U.S. and Canada met in Mexico City, as members of an advisory council created by the Mexican government. With a brash American style, they soon escalated their advice to demands, the members' voices echoing through the meeting hall. Morales, the Chicago Realtor, and about 100 other council members pushed Mexico to lobby the U.S. harder on immigration reform. They chastised their hosts for not creating more jobs. Buttonholing federal legislators in hallways, they reminded elected officials how much their districts relied on money sent from the U.S. They want 'results now' Gregorio Luke, a blond member of the council from Los Angeles partial to designer suits, observed that this kind of behavior wouldn't exist in a purely Mexican forum, where deference toward authority guides nearly all dialogue. "These people come here speaking Spanish, but they're negotiating as Americans," said Luke, a museum director who once oversaw cultural affairs at the Los Angeles Mexican Consulate. "They want to see results now." The meeting of the advisory council also illustrated the provocative overlap of Mexican and American political action. In addition to all-day strategy sessions on how to improve Mexico, council members brainstormed over late-night drinks on next moves in the fight for U.S. immigration reform. Many members had used their existing e-mail network to coordinate simultaneous demonstrations in Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities. Though not active participants in the U.S. immigrant movement, Mexican officials urged their compatriots to keep on fighting. "Let there be no barriers or walls between Mexicans here on the inside and the outside," former Mexican President Vicente Fox told the group, referring to a 2006 U.S. law that allows for a 700-mile fence to be built at the border. The audience stood and cheered. The idea that the Mexican government might be helping its nationals shape U.S. politics has raised red flags, both in the halls of academia and in the more volatile world of talk radio and the Internet. Robert Leiken, director of the immigration and national security program at the right-leaning Nixon Center in Washington, argued that binational activism among Mexican immigrants is bad for both countries. In the U.S., the meetings in Spanish and the often-passionate interest in Mexico's future hinder assimilation, he said. In Mexico, the relationship to hometown associations fosters an unhealthy economic dependence on U.S. remittances. "If I went out to Pilsen and spent some time with people from a hometown association, I'd think these are really cool people," Leiken said. But, "Standing back and looking at this from a social policy standpoint, I see some real problems." James McCann, a Purdue University political science professor, found that immigrants interested in Mexican affairs were more likely to participate in U.S. politics. He helped interview about 1,100 Mexican immigrants and found that hometown clubs promoted activism. "The conventional wisdom is that any transnational engagement is going to suck the oxygen out of your civic life in the States," McCann said. "But it seems that if you open a new avenue of expression in Mexico, that new avenue might pay some other dividends in the U.S." Some of those dividends went directly to the Blagojevich campaign last fall, when the governor found himself being serenaded by a trumpet-playing mariachi band inside the Hacienda Tecalitlan restaurant on the Near Northwest Side. Near a trickling courtyard fountain, Morales praised the governor in Spanish at the kickoff dinner for the Mexicans for Political Progress PAC. While Morales once raised money for his hometown with $1 tamales, the price here was as much as $500 a plate. "Let us demonstrate our political power by voting in the election, by voting for our friends interested in the prosperity of Mexicans. Friends like Gov. Rod Blagojevich!" Morales told the crowd. Blagojevich, who speaks a hint of Spanish, took the microphone and shouted: "Viva Chivas!" a reference to a popular Mexican soccer team. When the laughter and applause subsided, he switched to English and added: "By organizing, you are empowering a community. Your voice will be heard." The mood is darker in northwest suburban Carpentersville, where a growing Mexican community has rallied in large numbers in the face of a local backlash against undocumented immigrants. Last fall, about 3,000 Mexican immigrants and their supporters turned up outside Carpentersville's City Hall in an unexpected show of opposition to a proposed ordinance that would penalize landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and employers who hire them. The crowd was so riled a vote on the ordinance was postponed and has yet to be taken. The quick response came largely due to the hometown association representing the village of La Purisima, Michoacan, local activists said. The club turned to its telephone list of 400 families, said Salvador Balleno, the group's president. The turnout was a victory, but it has not deterred Carpentersville trustees from other proposals that would allow local police to trigger deportation proceedings against illegal immigrants and make English the village's official language. And as Balleno has struggled to register voters and rally volunteers for this month's village elections, even sympathetic politicians have seemed hesitant to link themselves too closely with the hometown association. Balleno now fears the village's hard-liners have the upper hand, intimidating some of the immigrants who protested last fall. "The [club] members know that if these people stay [in office] it is going to affect their kids," Balleno said, sounding anxious that an opportunity was slipping through his fingers. Jose Artemio Arreola, a key organizer of next month's march in Chicago, has been actively monitoring the battle in Carpentersville. He sees the activity there as part of a plan to create a political empire for Mexican immigrants, one linking hometown associations in Chicago and other cities to labor unions and Mexico's congress. His strategy includes moving back to his native state of Michoacan to run for congress there, something Arreola never imagined doing when he left a town overrun by poverty and ruled by local drug kingpins. He got his start in Chicago working in a plastics factory. Frustrated by the union representation there, he ran for shop steward and won. Unable to speak English, he relied on his bilingual co-workers to help him negotiate union contracts. He has since become a school janitor in Oak Park. The position pays little, but it has allowed Arreola to climb the ranks of the Service Employees International Union, where he has become key in that union's national efforts to tap further into the country's exploding Mexican immigrant workforce. All the while, Arreola has used the sharp elbows and old-school union tactics acquired in Chicago to become a power broker in his hometown of Acuitzio del Canje. He started in 2004 when the local mayor refused to back projects proposed by his hometown association. Arreola, a burly backslapper partial to gold neck chains, recalled thinking: "I need to take them out." He recruited a teacher to run for mayor in the Mexican town. Arreola then brought back a town phone book and, with others in Chicago, called voters one by one, promising a stream of U.S. investment if his candidate won. The incumbent opted for traditional rallies and car tours through town with a bullhorn. More than two years later, sitting in a Pilsen restaurant, Arreola opened a laptop computer and showed off the fruits of what proved to be an easy victory. Pictures of a new retirement home popped onto the screen, one featuring a grinning Arreola at a groundbreaking ceremony. Another showed a new computer lab with 40 computers for local schoolchildren, an investment in the future of Acuitzio del Canje. The town's name comes from an 1865 decision to make it the site for a "canje," or exchange of prisoners between warring Mexican and French troops. Sitting deep in the dusty mountains of Michoacan, it was neutral ground back then, Arreola explained, territory that didn't fully belong to either country but, in some ways, belonged to both. ---------- aolivo@tribune.com oavila@tribune.com - - - IN THE WEB EDITION Jose Artemio Arreola is one of several Mexican hometown association leaders in Chicago with multiple connections in Mexico and the U.S. From helping organize last year's massive immigration marches to slating political candidates in his home state, he wields influence on both sides of the border. Does Sirius and XM radio work in Canada and Alaska? Does it work all over the globe including Australia and Western Europe? How does it work? What does the satellite in space look like? Is there more than one Satellite? Is there a Satellite for every channel? What are the odds of the Satellite getting knocked out of orbit? How does the technology work exactly? And why do Trees buildings and freeway overpasses block out my reception sometimes? more

Resolved Question: Canada exposed as an enemy nation?

Should we treat them as such? WASHINGTON - Money talks, but can it also follow your movements? ADVERTISEMENT In a U.S. government warning high on the creepiness scale, the Defense Department cautioned its American contractors over what it described as a new espionage threat: Canadian coins with tiny radio frequency transmitters hidden inside. The government said the mysterious coins were found planted on U.S. contractors with classified security clearances on at least three separate occasions between October 2005 and January 2006 as the contractors traveled through Canada. Intelligence and technology experts said such transmitters, if they exist, could be used to surreptitiously track the movements of people carrying the spy coins. The U.S. report doesn't suggest who might be tracking American defense contractors or why. It also doesn't describe how the Pentagon discovered the ruse, how the transmitters might function or even which Canadian currency contained them. Further details were secret, according to the U.S. Defense Security Service, which issued the warning to the Pentagon's classified contractors. The government insists the incidents happened, and the risk was genuine. "What's in the report is true," said Martha Deutscher, a spokeswoman for the security service. "This is indeed a sanitized version, which leaves a lot of questions." Top suspects, according to outside experts: China, Russia or even France — all said to actively run espionage operations inside Canada with enough sophistication to produce such technology. The Canadian Security Intelligence Service said it knew nothing about the coins. "This issue has just come to our attention," CSIS spokeswoman Barbara Campion said. "At this point, we don't know of any basis for these claims." She said Canada's intelligence service works closely with its U.S. counterparts and will seek more information if necessary. Experts were astonished about the disclosure and the novel tracking technique, but they rejected suggestions Canada's government might be spying on American contractors. The intelligence services of the two countries are extraordinarily close and routinely share sensitive secrets. "It would seem unthinkable," said David Harris, former chief of strategic planning for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. "I wouldn't expect to see any offensive operation against the Americans." Harris said likely candidates include foreign spies who targeted Americans abroad or businesses engaged in corporate espionage. "There are certainly a lot of mysterious aspects to this," Harris said. Experts said such tiny transmitters would almost certainly have limited range to communicate with sensors no more than a few feet away, such as ones hidden inside a doorway. The metal in the coins also could interfere with any signals emitted. "I'm not aware of any (transmitter) that would fit inside a coin and broadcast for kilometers," said Katherine Albrecht, an activist who believes such technology carries serious privacy risks. "Whoever did this obviously has access to some pretty advanced technology." Experts said hiding tracking technology inside coins is fraught with risks because the spy's target might inadvertently give away the coin or spend it buying coffee or a newspaper. They agreed, however, that a coin with a hidden tracking device might not arouse suspicion if it were discovered in a pocket or briefcase. "It wouldn't seem to be the best place to put something like that; you'd want to put it in something that wouldn't be left behind or spent," said Jeff Richelson, a researcher and author of books about the CIA and its gadgets. "It doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense." Canada's largest coins include its $2 "Toonie," which is more than 1-inch across and thick enough to hide a tiny transmitter. The CIA has acknowledged its own spies have used hollow, U.S. silver-dollar coins to hide messages and film. The government's 29-page report was filled with other espionage warnings. It described unrelated hacker attacks, eavesdropping with miniature pen recorders and the case of a female foreign spy who seduced her American boyfriend to steal his computer passwords. In another case, a film processing company called the FBI after it developed pictures for a contractor that contained classified images of U.S. satellites and their blueprints. The photo was taken from an adjoining office window. ___ more

Resolved Question: Some Scientific Facts in 700 CE did you hear about them?

Asad Khan" <asad_rind@yahoo.co.in Ours is an era of space probes, computer chips, laser surgeries and cloning. If we were to label any book as a revelation from God, we couldn't help but to scrutinize this Scripture using modern scientific knowledge. It could not be that a revelation, proclaiming itself from God, could constitute aspects contradicting established scientific facts. How could we assume otherwise, when God is the one who created the universe and the laws operating within it. The Quran was revealed 1400 years ago to the last Prophet of God, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a guidance for all humanity. The entire Quran has been committed to memory by millions of Muslims around the world and has been preserved by God from any interpolations, for continuing guidance. Although the Quran is a religious book with a total of about 6600 plus verses dealing with many aspects of a person's life, about 1000 of those verses are of scientific nature, none contradicting established scientific facts. Dr. T.V.N. Persaud [1], professor of Anatomy, says: "You have an illiterate person (Prophet Muhammad) making profound statements that are amazingly accurate, of a scientific nature...I personally can't see how this could be mere chance, there are too many accuracies and like Dr. Moore, I have no difficulty in my mind reconciling that this is a divine inspiration or revelation which lead him to these statements". Besides providing guidelines in personal, social, moral and spiritual spheres of humanity, the Quran touches upon diverse scientific topics like astronomy, geology, embryology, genetics, biology, archeology etc. Some of these are mentioned below to prove the Quran's Divine origin. The Big Bang ! Currently, the Big Bang model of the origin of the universe is the cosmological paradigm most widely accepted by astronomers. It holds that about 15 billion years ago the universe began with the explosive expansion of a single, extremely dense matter, the primordial mass. Only after the development of radio telescopes in 1937 that, the necessary observational precision was achieved in order for astronomers to arrive at the above conclusion. What does the Quran say about our universe's origin? "Do not the unbelievers see that the Heavens and the earth were joined together, then We split them apart." (21:30) Expanding Universe In 1925, Edwin Hubble (after whom the Hubble Space telescope is named) provided the observational evidence for the expansion of the universe. Stephen Hawking (author of 'A Brief History of Time') states: "The universe is not static, as had previously been thought, it is expanding". So what did God reveal in the Quran, 1400 years ago? "And the firmament, We constructed with power and skill and verily We are expanding it" (51:47) ("We" is the Arabic plural of respect, not the Christian plural of 'trinity") The Existence of Sun's Orbit Ancient people use to believe that the Sun revolves around the earth. Later, Nicholas Copernicus in 1512, laid his Heliocentric Theory of Planetary motion, which placed the sun motionless in the center of the solar system with all the planets revolving around it. Modern science tells us now that the sun too is not still, but is in motion. The sun traveling at roughly 150 miles per second takes about 200 million years to complete one revolution around the center of our Milky Way Galaxy and 25 days to make one complete rotation around its own axis. See how beautifully and accurately God revealed this phenomenon in the Quran: "It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its orbit with its own motion." (21:33) Conquest of Space by Human Human exploration and the conquest of space began with the launching of the Russian Satellite, Sputnik I on Oct. 4, 1957. Then followed the launching of humans into space, which eventually led to a manned space flight to the Moon on July 20th, 1967. Thus the dream of humanity since the dawn of civilization to go beyond the earth to the heavens was realized. The Quran, 1400 years ago, clearly predicted human's advancement and the possibility of space flight. "O assembly of Jinns and humans, if you can penetrate the regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate them! You will not penetrate them save with a power (of God)." (55:33) The Protective Atmosphere Earth is constantly bombarded by meteoroids that disintegrate upon the atmosphere and by lethal rays emitted by the sun. This UV radiation is absorbed by the Ozone layer forming the outer fringe of our atmosphere. Thus our atmosphere along with its Ozone layer is a protective covering for us. Life possibly could not have existed without it. How meticulously, does our Lord sustain and protect us against this atmospheric destruction. "And We have made the atmosphere a protective roof, yet do they turn away from the Signs which these things point to." (21:32) Embryology The Dutch naturalist Anthony van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) produced lenses powerful enough to prove that many tiny creatures are not spontaneously generated but are produced from eggs. The science of Embryology as we know it today did not discover many of the detailed aspects of human embryonic development until the 1970s, using powerful microscopes, ultra sound and fiber optics technology. See how the Quran described the stages of embryonic development. "God fashioned man from a small quantity (of sperm)" (16:4) Fertilization takes place with only one sperm among several tens of million produced by man. "Then We placed him as a drop in a place of rest" (23:13) Implantation of the blastocyst in the uterus. "Then We made the drop into a leech like structure... " (23:14) This resemblance of the human embryo to a leech is an appropriate description of the human embryo from days 7-24, when it clings to the endometrium of the uterus. "And He (God) gave you hearing and sight and feeling and understanding. " (32:9) The internal ears appear before the eyes, and the brain (the sight of understanding) differentiates last. Dr. E. Marshall Johnson [2] Professor of Anatomy, concluded after studying verses from Quran: "The Quran describes not only the development of external form but emphasizes also the internal stages - the stages inside the embryo of its creation and development, emphasizing major events recognized by contemporary science... so I see nothing in conflict with the concept that divine intervention was involved..." Gender Determination The concept of "Gender Determination" as being described by geneticists, is one of the outstanding informations revealed to us in the Quran. This information is now a known fact, that sperms are the deciding factors in determining the type of gender (male or female) in the new embryo. This determination through the male sperm is due to the fact that sperms have an X and Y chromosomes, while the female ovum has only X Chromosomes (X, X). Through the Quran, The Almighty informs us that it is the male sperms that determine the type of gender for the new offspring: "Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled (without purpose)? Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in humble form)? Then did (God) make and fashion (him) in due proportion. And of him He made two sexes, male and female..." (75:36-40) Existence of Pairs in All Creation Before the dawn of the modern era, humans conceived that only animal life was divided into two genders, male and female. Then the discovery was made that this phenomenon was present in plants and vegetation too. We have found this reality existing in every creation, animate as well as inanimate, though in different forms. In electricity, these two genders can be classified as positive and negative. North and south pole describe it in magnetism, electron and proton in atoms, matter and antimatter etc. Even bacteria could be positive or negative, while the truth is, this creation is made of pairs. At the time the Holy Quran was being revealed in the 7th century C.E., we knew of pairing in animals and plants only, but the Quran describes the phenomenon in the most lucid manner: "Hallowed is He, Who created pairs in all things, those that grow from the earth and of themselves, and what they know not." (36:36) The Quranic statement: "...And what they know not" is as true today, as it was when Holy Quran was revealed. Though we have discovered that every created thing exists in pair, we have yet to discover many things that exist. We have expounded scientific marvels from the Holy Quran to convince sincere seekers of truth that it is the infallible Word of God. No mortal being can ever speak with such authority, finality, knowledge, perfection, and precision coupled with exotic beauties of expression, as does God in the Quran. By realizing these Truths about the Quran and the religion of Islam revealed by our Creator and Sustainer, many modern scientists are turning towards it. Dr. Keith Moore [3], Professor of Embryology, after analyzing the verses of the Quran for three years comments: "It has been a pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about Human Development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God or Allah because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later" Dr. Maurice Bucaille [4], French Physician, after studying Quran and comparing it with modern science, addressed the French Academy of Medicine in 1976 proclaimed: "Our knowledge of these disciplines is such, that it is impossible to explain how a text produced at the time of the Quran could have contained ideas that have only been discovered in modern times". Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson [5], Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, proclaims: "...These Hadiths (sayings of Muhammad) could not have been obtained on the basis of the scientific knowledge that was available at the time of the writer (7th century)...It follows that not only is there no conflict between genetics and religion (Islam) but in fact religion (Islam) may guide science by adding revelation to some of the traditional scientific approaches.. . There exist statements in the Quran shown centuries later to be valid which support knowledge in the Quran having been derived from God". Dr. Tejatet Tejasen [6], Professor of Anatomy, attending the Eighth Saudi Medical Conference, stood up and likewise announced: "From my studies and what I have learnt at this conference, I believe that everything that has been recorded in the Quran 1400 years ago must be true. That can be proved the scientific way". These men of knowledge, in their unbiased studies of the Quran, all proclaimed its truthfulness as a Revelation of Almighty God. "Soon we will show them Our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth) and in their own soul, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth..." (41:53) Guidance to humanity proclaimed in the Quran is complete and applicable to all societies and all times. Whether we are living in the Stone Age or the Space Age, riding in horse pulled carriages or flying in Space Shuttles, we haven't changed a bit. We still possess physical and emotional desires, we live in societies, interact with one another, establish social, political and economic systems; thus the relevant need for guidance by our Creator in all these spheres of our life. Islam is the only religion which is totally compatible with scientific facts and provides complete, explicit and clear guidance in all spheres of life. The Quran was revealed in Arabic, but translation of its meaning are available in English and other languages for non-Arabs. Likewise Islam is not restricted to people of the east or Arabs, it is a universal religion revealed for all of mankind. We invite all sincere humans to study Islam with an open mind. Don't blindly follow the whims and paganistic influences of the environment around us. God bestowed upon us this superb mind to seek and live the truth; for we all will be accountable on the Day of Judgment for our beliefs and deeds. Don't delay your salvation. Welcome to Islam!
