Resolved Question: 2009 Mazda 5 CD player?

It's a 2009 base model (I think) Mazda 5 I've only had it for about 6 months and the CD player died today. I got up to 100 °F today (even hotter in the car) but they should make it so the heat doesn't ruin the CD player because once you turn off the car there's no way to keep it cool. The AM/FM radio and Satellite radio still work I'm not sure about the Ipod/MP3 jack because I don't have the money to buy one, but the CD's won't even eject the CD's now. I don't have time to take it into the dealer. I think the fuses are all in, it looked like 2 may have been missing but I'm not sure and I haven't even touched the fuses since we got the car and I don't think any broke in and messed it up because I'm really sure the door was locked how do I fix the CD player? more

I'm having a little problem with my system that I've put together. First off, I'll start off be listing the equipment I'm using, and how they are wired. Amp: SSL Evolution EV2500M MOSFET Monoblock - 2500 WATT amp. HU is a week and a half old - never had any problems. Amplifier is two days old - I wired it same day I got it, hooked up two really weak subs that I had laying around to make sure it was working. Subwoofers just arrived today - never been used before now. Okay now here is my problem: When I turn car on, everything is fine. Anytime I raise my volume above 8, my amplifier goes into protection mode, and the subwoofers stop. I'll turn my car off, turn it back on and everything is working again. Up until I put volume up to 8 or higher again. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? There are settings on the back of the amplifier, such as db, and hz, but I don't know what I should be setting those at, or if that's even the problem. Is amp too strong for these subwoofers? Too weak? When I purchased my amplifier at the car audio store, I told the dealer what subs I was purchasing, and this is the amplifier he recommended for what I have. Do I just have a dud amplifier? Any help at all would be appreciated.I re-wired my subs to a 2ohm load instead of the 1 ohm load, and all seems okay now. My mistake for listening to salesman telling me that these subs need to be wired at 1ohm and handing me a diagram of the wiring. more

We bought a car 5 days ago. The dealer promised us 10 year / 100k mile warrantee. I glanced over my paper work yesterday, and I noticed that I was charged 1300 for the warrantee, and it only says 5 years not 10. He also said we'd get road side assistance for 5 years and free satellite radio for 3 months. Even on their website it says 10 years, and roadside assistance. But I’m not seeing any of that in my paper work. I'm going to call the car dealership this morning. I really don't have a leg to stand on with this. To my own defense I had a 14 week old baby that was crying while I was signing this garbage. My husband is mostly to blame. I trusted that he would read the fine print. I might go to jail for beating his ass. I really feel like I got screwed. Any advice? Please be nice. Thanks! more

Upgrades allowed just need to pay the difference. Free emissions inspections for life Balance of 8-Year/80,000-mile limited warranty 3-year/3,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty CARFAX and AUTOCHECK both came back clean. My two goals were to get my wife into a 4x4 and lower my payments. Her goals was to get into a 4x4 and love the vehicle. Looks good, just wanted to get some advice.The car on carmax does not have the same options. Leather adds a few hundred dollars, heated seats adds a few, sun roof adds a few. Plus if you look, thats a "NO HAGGLE PRICE" I agree that moving the dept is bad. I dont like it. But I have to... correction...i would like to get my wife into a 4x4. The nitro's two wheel drive was just horrible even with snow tires. _I bought it in florida if your asking why" It does lower my payments even though my dept is going up. I could go with cheaper 4x4 yes, but then I sacrifice size. hmm. dont know. I am still dealing with other dealers.Also, try that same search in my zipcode 15001. Results change a bit. more

being weasled into a car that's not as good as they'd like to make you think? My husband and I are looking for our first new car. We had our sights set on a Hyundai Accent, but after we got to the dealer they outright lied! They told us the car had an am/fm cd player equipped with 3 free months of satellite radio, when my husband looked inside it didn't even have a radio! And they all played dumb, one of them saying "Oh it doesn't? Well we can get you one but it won't have satellite radio." What is that? We plan to buy outright, pay in full. So at least we don't have the car payment issue to deal with. But can you give me tips on how to find a good quality car without being led to believe it's something it's not? I have an 08 Mazda 3. It currently has a Sirius/XM radio setup. I was told that, in order to use the factory installed auxiliary port in the center console, I would need to install a $300+ splitter to have both the port and the satellite radio. Is there any way that I could get this splitter through a OEM parts dealer? I'm certain that I can install this thing myself, and perhaps save the money in having the dealer do the labor. Resolved Question: HELP WITH CAR LEASE?!?!?

My local BMW dealer has a lease special for a 2009 BMW 328xi Coupe with Premium, Cold Weather Package, Navigation, HD Radio, Satellite Radio, and Comfort Access System (MSRP $48,000). Their advertisement has it for $359/month for 36mo. and 10k miles with a $4,995 capitalize cost reduction (down payment). The salesman said that to get it for that price my total cash due at signing would be around $9,500! In other words, taxes and other fees (bank acquisition fee, registration fees, title fees, etc.. would amount to nearly half the capitalize cost reduction which I find surprising! Yes it's a BMW but it's a 3 series which is their most popular model and relatively cheaper than their other lines so unless they do not manufacture many, this should not warrant such a high cash due at signing. Does $9,500 for total cash due at signing sound like a ripoff? If so, what's a good way to bargain down the cash due at signing to no more than $5,000 and no more than $500/month (if these numbers are even possible). Also, does anyone know what might be a reasonable cash due at signing and monthly for 36 months and 12,000 miles? Thanks more

Over the summer, I noticed my defroster quit working. Now thats it is getting cool out, I realize the heater is not working either. It just kepps blowing cold air! Now the air conditioning has continued to function properly. I have checked all the fuses, and all fuses are good. Any ideas of what could be wrong. I did have a satellite radio put in by a big name dealer @ the time I noticed the defroster stopped working? I am not sure if they could have disconnected or pinched a wire? The dealer has offered me more for my Camry Hybrid which is an 07 with 20K miles on it versus a new 08 Prius. The Prius is missing two options I have on my Camry, the Navigator and the satellite radio. However, I can pick up a Sat radio for less then 100 bucks and I really don't use the built in Navigator. Hello. I just bought a 2007 Ford Mustang from a car dealer, it had 10,000 miles and was exactly a year old when I bought it. I see that is comes with sirius satellite radio and it is working. I was just wondering how long the subscription is good for, etc because the guy at the place didn't even tell us about it and we found it on our own. Thanks!I can get all of the channels.. I'm not sure if it had previous owners, from what I understood the guy said that he got it at an auction, he said that after the cars reach 10,000 miles than ford auctions them off. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Durango CD player not working after jump-start?

I have a 2004 Dodge, Durango. It has the stock 6 disc stereo, DVD, Sirrus combo. One of the kids left the light on one night and we had to jump-start the car. Since then the CD player will not work. Everything else works just fine. It is like the CD player doesn't exist. Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone know how to fix it? I know i could take it to the dealer and they could probably fix it for a marginal fee. I was trying to avoid that route if I could. I am mechanically inclined so if it can be fixed I could probably do it. If the fuse was bad, wouldn't the whole thing not work? The radio works, the DVD, satellite, it all works. But there is no CD functions at all. No error messages, nothing. When scrolling through the options (DVD, Satellite, AM, FM, etc...) the CD player doesn't come up. If there are separate fuses for the different components within the system I guess I could understand. I am used to the older style where there is one fuse for the whole car stereo. Also, does anyone know where to get a copy of the electrical diagram without having to buy the service manual? Dodge was kind enough to not label anything in the fuse panels, just the amp rating for each one. In an attempt to get us to take it to the dealer for a fuse, i suppose. more

I purchased a 2008 town and country minivan that has the myGig and Video Entertainment System with Sirius satellite radio. It does not have navigation... I was wondering if there was a way to just pop in a CD to install the navigation software and that be all I need? It already has the touch screen and everything. Is it possible to do? Is there any additional hardware that is needed? Thanks! more

I heard if you get navigation "in dash" that it can only be updated by buying cd's to load. The dash mounted types, Garmin, TomTom, receive satellite signals and are constantly updated. I really hate anything on my dash or stuck on the winshield. Why aren't "in dash" kinds satellite driven too? I don't understand why the same antenna that runs your satellite radio couldn't run your nav too? Or maybe you can order one to be installed that is? If not, how do you know how often to update, and are the cd's expensive? more

Can't seem to find my brochure for 2006 Pontiac G5 Pursuit. Thought it stated that Gt models, have a standard feature for XM satellite radio. I was offered a 2004 GMC ENVOY XUV for $19,800....it is the SLT (top of the line) trim with an 8 cyl engine/sunroof/leather-heated seats/satellite radio etc...45,000 miles....still under warranty....GM certified used car dealer.. I would like to know if anyone has any experience owning one and what I should be on the lookout for in terms of mechanical problems or any other issues.... I know they stopped making them already but a $42k car for less than 20K looks a little too good .... Also any advice on bargaining with the dealer??? THANX!! more

Resolved Question: Toyota Corolla wobble at HWY speeds.?

I have a one owner 1995 Toyota Corolla with 190,000 miles. The car is dealer maintained and we have followed the book to a "T". This car has not really aged a bit. Problem: At highway speeds (70mph) I started to notice the interior of my car had a wobbling type vibration. My satellite radio bracket on the dash shakes badly. I thought it was the bad pavement on the 101 near my house causing this. It only happens when I step on the gas, when at 65-75 mph. If I let off the gas and coast at these speeds, it goes away. The car is not shifting out of overdrive when I perform this test. There are no tire vibrations. Brand new tires, just balanced and rotated. There is no steering wheel shimmy during the wobble/vibration. It does not happen in city driving. It does not seem to be the engine. During city driving, if I place the car in Low, and try to replicate the wobble by pressing the gas, then coasting, I can't replicate. more
