Toyota And Sirius Satellite Radio Questions asked

Resolved Question: R&S crowd, I have earthly questions?

OK, so I have a BBQ grill that I love, and has these cast iron cooking surfaces. they rust a little. How do I remove the rust and season them? I know how to season a cast iron pan, but not so sure how to remove the rust. Secondly, some savage broke off the antenna on my toyota forerunner, and I was not fortunate enough to witness it ( i would have spanked that kid in the middle of the parking lot). If I install a Sirius satellite radio, with the hard wire connection to the radio, can I go without the antenna? Yeah, I know that this isnt religious or spiritual, and I know I am trying to squeeze a two-fer in here, but I truly could use some advice on these pressing issues. Deus est mea lux.Mick, loved your answer. I asked God last night, and he said to come here, you silly heretic :) more

Resolved Question: Steering Wheel Controls Not Working With Sirius Radio?

I just had Sirius radio installed into my satellite ready radio system in my 08 Toyota Camry Solara. Everything works great, but the steering wheel control which normally switches between my presets when I'm listening to regular FM stations only goes up or down the channel listing when I'm listening to Sirius. In other words, it goes from Sirius channel 1, 2, 3 4, and so on....NOT my presets. Is it normal to lose this function? more

Resolved Question: Satellite radio?

My husband wants a portable satellite radio to use mainly in his truck ( a 2006 Toyota Tundra). He doesn't care anything about the MP3 player features - just wants to expand his stations - sports in particular. I don't know where to start as far as brands go. What would look good in his vehicle yet be easy to use in the house or boat also? Another question I have is do I go with Sirius or XM? I have heard rumors they are getting ready to merge. How would that affect things? As you can see, I don't have a clue about this stuff. Please help! more

Resolved Question: Sirius Satellite Radio question?

I've read my owner's manual and looked online but cannot find the answer. I drive a Toyota Yaris that basically only has two places to put the suction cup mount (that I can think of) on a window, or on the plastic over the cd/radio display. I originally had it over the cd/radio display, but the suction cup made it pop off. I'm not sure if the location of the faceplate has anything to do with this, but now all the diplay says is "aquiring signal". It has done this for a week and at first I thought cloud cover was affecting the signal, but there have been several clear days. I have a 45 minute drive to and from work on open road (no overhead trees and only a few bridges). What else could be causing this??? And do any Yaris owners have an idea of where else to put it in my car? more
