Resolved Question: Cheap place to buy Pioneer GEX-XMP3 Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver w Home Kit?
Where can I find a great deal online for Pioneer GEX-XMP3 Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver w Home Kit moreResolved Question: What Does the Ultimate Cockpit Netbook Have Built In?
I am looking at combining an Asus Eee PC 1005 or an Eee T91 Touch Tablet with Windows 7 Home Premium, a Garmin GPS 20x USB and/or GPS 10 Bluetooth GPS sensors, XM WX Satellite Weather and Radio on a USB dongle and any other cool program or sensors that would be handy. Of course, the audio needs to be patched to the Sigtronics Stereo intercom. Fuel and engine instrumentation on Bluetooth would be nice too, at least for the experimentals. Nothing could be primary instrumentation I know, but still, it seems you could pack a whole lotta stuff in a dedicated netbook. Does anyone have any ideas, thoughts, links of the ultimate cockpit netbook?WOW! Those are some great links! I am considering the Asus Eee T91 Touch Tablet, a 2G RAM module and Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade , but the 16GB SSD may not be enough room. Perhaps I could go with the cheaper Eee Seashell PC1005 with a traditional HDD, the Garmin GPS 10x Bluetooth and/or GPS 20x USB receivers and maybe the WxWorx Bluetooth or USB Receiver. The Anywhere Map offers the moving map software and a lifetime subscription for $800. Combined, it sure seems like a neat little package for cheap. Now, how can I get online in the airplane? moreResolved Question: Questions about satellite radio. XM or Sirius?
I am looking to buy my husband satellite radio for his car for Xmas. I have never owned it before and I know NOTHING about it. I do not want to spend more than $200. Here are the details: He has an older car, therefore the receiver part would have to plug in to the lighter. He really likes sports radio and classic rock. I would like the receiver part to be portable (not sure if thats possible) so he can plug into our home stereo. My question is, is XM the way to go or Sirius, and is this possible for $200 or less? Also, would Best Buy be the best place to go? Thanks for ANY info on this.lol. See, I told you I knew nothing about it! I didn't even know it was the same company! moreResolved Question: What type of Sirius Satellite Radio should I get?
I'm really interested in investing in Sirius radio and I have an Alpine CDA-9883 stereo- maybe that's an important detail to know, maybe it's not. Here's what I'm looking for -a model that enables me to listen to sirius/xm in my car, at home, and on the go -I've heard that some models require an fm transmitter, but I really don't want to be listening to the radio and deal with static at the same time I was also wondering how one can listen to sirius at home with use of an iHome? My fiance and i are looking into Satellite radio, our question is probably a simple one but haven't not used these services before we have no way of knowing. If we were to purchase a plan, and a few recievers, one for home and one for my office, and my truck has an add on that I can buy, can all of these be used at the same time, or even with the same subscription? I live 110 miles away from Dallas, TX, and I love the FM radio stations they have there. However I'm too far to get the signal with normal radio devices. I have considered satellite radio such as XM or Sirius, but they are too expensive to set up, and I'm considering them as a last resource. What I would like is to just set up a simple antenna that would receive Dallas FM stations and sends them to my Home Theater. Any help would be awesome. Thank you all very much!Oh, one last thing. I have only one computer available and its used mostly all the time by my step son. He plays his own music and plays games while I want to play my music. So streaming from the computer wouldn't work, as I wouldnt want to hear random gunshots or races or whatever in the middle of a Mozart symphony. Plus, the PC is too far away from my BOSE speakers, and extending a cable all the way there would be ugly and bulky. moreResolved Question: Should Oprah be subject to the Fairness Doctrine if Rush is?

Yamaha Brings HDMI 1.3a Support and Full HD Audio Format Capability To Latest 7.1 Channel A/V Home Theater Receivers -- High-Performance Receivers at More Affordable Prices Raise the Bar with Exclusive Cinema DSP Processing, 1080p Upscaling and iPod Connectivity; Ethernet Connection (RX-V3800) -- Yamaha Electronics Corporation, the innovator in home theater and digital audio and video reproduction, today introduced two new best-in-class 7.1 channel A/V digital home theater receivers, the RX-V3800 (140w x 7; $1,699.95 MSRP) and the RX-V1800 (130w x 7; $1,299.95 MSRP). Offering unsurpassed home theater audio and video realism, both models feature full HD audio format capability, including lossless Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound, Yamaha's acclaimed Cinema DSP processing engine, video upscaling to 1080p, and support of the latest HDMI 1.3a specification. Both models are compatible with the Apple iPod, via an optional docking station (YDS-10), and allow playback of XM Satellite Radio's standard and XM HD Surround content. The receivers will be on display at Yamaha's booth (#450) throughout CEDIA Expo 2007, taking place September 5-9, 2007 in Denver, Colorado. The RX-V3800 also features an Ethernet connection, enabling consumers to access Internet radio stations, music files stored on a PC and the company's premier MusicCAST audio system server (MCX-2000), providing access to as many as 40,000 songs that can be stored on that system. Offering seamless integration with any sources connected by the Ethernet port, as well as with an iPod and XM Satellite Radio, the RX-V3800 enables users to navigate their content via well-designed graphical user interfaces that are optimized for display on HDTV monitors. Both models offer full support of HD audio format signals including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD, HDT-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio, as well as surround sound processing with the enhanced capability of Yamaha's exclusive Cinema DSP. Content with 5.1-channel audio is augmented by two front "presence" channels that expand the soundfield upward and outward. The RX-V3800 features 3D Cinema DSP which gives the sound field an extra vertical dimension for more realistic sound images via the two front presence speakers. Both models support the latest HDMI standard, HDMI 1.3a, unleashing the stunning quality of 30- and 36-bit color depths. Colors are so vivid they seem to jump off the screen with perfectly smooth transitions and ultra-fine gradations. Both receivers have four HDMI inputs, allowing users to connect a variety of high-definition sources such as Blu-ray and HD-DVD players. Analog video sources are upconverted, enabling their signal to be routed to a connected HDTV through the HDMI output cable. What's more, both receivers harness Anchor Bay Technology's ABT1010 chip to provide video upscaling from 480i or 480p, to resolutions up to 1080p. As a result, users have a true high-definition experience even when viewing sources such as DVDs. A 120Hz refresh rate is supported to accommodate new, reduced flicker LCD TVs. Moreover, 1080p/24Hz compatibility provides optimal performance with Blu-ray Discs and compliant displays. Auto Lip-Sync Compensation prevents sync issues sometimes associated with transmitting video and audio via HDMI. Additional features for high quality audio performance include Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART design which simplifies the signal path and eliminates noise sources to ensure superior audio and video performance. Activating the receivers' Pure Direct functionality protects the signal additionally by further shortening its path, bypassing all DSP circuitry and cutting power to non-essential functions such as the front-panel display. High Current Amplification allows the amplifiers to drive all types of speakers with pure, robust sound. Also included are discrete low-noise power supplies, Burr-Brown 192kHz/24bit DACs, large arch-shaped heat sinks, low jitter PLL circuitry for SPIDF signals, and all-new, ultra-rigid vibration damping chassis design. Both models connect easily to Apple iPods via an optional iPod docking station (Yamaha YDS-10; SRP $99.95). Once docked, the iPod can be operated (song selection, play, etc.) via the receivers' remote controls. A one cable connection allows users to view the iPod's video, pictures and operating status (song title, artist, etc.) on a television monitor. In addition, docked iPods are automatically charged so they're always ready for a road trip. The RX-V3800 also has a front panel USB port to for quick and easy connections of other portable audio devices. Playback of XM HD Surround from XM Satellite Radio, which delivers audio programming in full 5.1 channel surround sound (XM Ch. 76 and 113), as well as content from the company's 160-plus standard service channels, is achieved via an optional service subscription and XM Mini Tuner. Neural Surround™ technology enhances the experience of XM HD Surround, delivering a detailed sound stage with superior 5.1 channel separation. Yamaha's proprietary Compressed Music Enhancer technology compensates for the lost detail of audio that is compressed during the "ripping" process, recapturing the essence of the original recording. The Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO) simplifies the home theater setup process by automatically analyzing room acoustics and setting parameters for optimum sound quality at the touch of a button. The RX-V3800 and the RX-V1800 offer flexible system configuration options, as the 7.1 channels can be used to create an immersive surround sound environment in a single room, or the seven internal power amplifiers can be allocated to a main room and up to two additional zones. The RX-V3800 offers the extra capability of outputting video to a second zone simultaneously with the main room. A dedicated zone remote and RS-232C interface allow both receivers to be easily integrated into custom installations. moreResolved Question: How can I get XM Satellite radio in my home?

Do you pay more if you have more than one receiver? Like one in the car, one at home, one in the office? Thanks!what if you have one that is built into the car, like part of the stero tuner? moreResolved Question: Satellite Radio, Sirius or XM?
What do people like better, Sirius or XM? And why? Where will you use it? Sirius offers NFL, NBA, Howard Stern, OutQ and UK Soccer. XM offers MLB, Hockey, Fox Sports and Sporting News Radio and more talk stations than Sirius along with (what I think) is better selection of music (XM goes deeper). XM also has a station called "Cinemagic" which plays nothing but movie soundtracks from movies (really cool). Now the tricky part is where you're going to use it. In the car, both will give you good reception, Sirius a bit better in inner cities as Sirius has 3 moving sats that are higher in the sky. XM has 3 geo-sync SATS that do not move. HOME use, XM is a easy, just point it to the south and most times you can keep the antenna indoors. Sirius must face north towards North Dakota and 90% of the time the antenna must be outdoors up as high as possible (unless Sirius has a Terrestrial tower in your city, then indoors will work).Keep in mind you can have 1 receiver (for either XM or Sirius) and move it use it in your car then take it into the house with you. Plus I forgot to add XM has Opie & Anthony (Howards competation) and Ron and Fez. SO which is it? Or are you like me who has both XM and Sirius? My take is one is not better than the other. Both have good and bad points. I know people who wanted Sirius at home, but just could not install the antenna outside to get steady reception (with SIrius moving sats you may get a signal then it will drop out for a hour or so then come back on again). And I know people who paid satellite installers to put up an antenna (TERK SIR-6 along with TERN 50 foot cable) high outside their house to get Sirius. Here is where Sirius needs improvement. So many home users can't get reception where XM is a snap, again due to the Sirius Sats. You can download a free Satellite tracker: http://www.stoff.pl Download, then click OTHER COMM click Sirius XMI tend to think of (in terms of music) as Sirius as the flashy new "hipp" guy, with all the latest music, and XM as the "geeky" guy who has all the music and tunes that go much deeper than Sirius. I read somewhere that XM outnumbers Sirius in number of songs owned over Sirius. Plus I love the Cinemagic station XM has! Then again, Sirius has Jay Thomas (funny talk guy) and naturally Howard Steren. And in the gay community OutQ is very popular (Derek and Romaine are great hosts).I ALWAYS thought to myself "why would anyone pay to listen to the radio?" This until a family member purchased a new SUV with XM radio in it. From where I was hooked! It's so much better listening to radio with no commercials. And XM has Cinemagic! moreResolved Question: How is a home satellite radio receiver able to get a signal indoors (such as with XM home recievers)?
