I own a 2005 Ford Taurus that came with the CD player. I recently purchased a Ford factory radio from a 2000 Ford Taurus that has the tape player. I switched units so I can use the tape player for my satellite radio. However the airbag light came on. I had the installation done at a local Best Buy and brought the car back the next day to show them the airbag light. The guy who did the radio looked at the original radio I had and noticed that there was plug for the airbag censor that was not present on the radio with the tape player. its hard to explain but i bought a cord from radioshack since the one that came with sirius did not work with my after market cd player. it has a yellow and a red that i plug into the cords in the back of my player and connects the sirius with a single. It works but it is making my car door speakers cut in and out. i found that when i wiggle the cord connected to my sirius that it will come back on. I suspect that this cord is possibly to big. I have a Starmate 1 that I suspended service on in 2004 and know for certain that the subscription was canceled. I broke the antennae on my car and chose to just install the Sat Radio because I've gotten tired of all the commercials on radio. Anyway, put it in the car to test it out before I called and had the service reactivated and it worked, all the channels, perfectly. Does anyone know why this is? Did I just get lucky? more

I have always been curious about why Americans choose to come and live in the UK what made you want to come and live here. What are your favourite parts of living here? I have a panasonic XM Inno. It does not have FM modulator capability. I listened to xm/sirius through my tape adapter and now the tape deck in my car suddenly broke and I really don't want to have to get it fixed if I don't have to. It probably costs too much money. What do I do? I can't clean the tape deck out with a cleaner b/c it spits out my tapes as soon as I put them in. There is no AUX option in my car either. Any insight is helpful. more

Resolved Question: Problems with Kenwood Sirius Radio?

The Sirius unit turns on but stalls at the "Sirius" screen, beeps, goes blank, then shows the Sirius screen again. This cycle repeats as long as the power is turned on. Previously "Kenwood" appeared right after "Sirius" and then it connected to the satellite. This problem just started. Prior to last week, it worked without a problem for 3 years. The antenna is connected and shows a good signal. I've tried unplugging the unit, pushing other buttons, nothing works. Tried it on the indoor station as well as in the car, the same problem happens in both places. Thanks for any advice! more

Okay so I was at one time interested in getting this, but sort of tuckered out. My girlfriend decided to get me one of the Sirius radios with a vehicle kit for Christmas and I did some research about how the company worked before signing up. Previously I had one of the FM transmitters for my iPod and it worked horribly...lots of static and never a clear reception. Obviously I don't want to use this and I don't have an Aux in input on my car stereo so I either have to get it directly wired to my FM Antenna or get a new head unit. Also I hear their service can be quite ridiculous when trying to sign up and that they like to sneak in hidden fees and have almost an absolutely horrid customer service department. I do drive often and would love to have something like this, but is it worth it? Anyone else have problems they'd like to share or such? more

I'm not referring to what we already have, wind turbines, solar panels, electric cars, etc., but a mainstream eco-friendly fuel source that would replace gasoline, coal, and others as a power source. I just got a sirius satellite radio for christmas and my parents said that they will buy me a subscription when i get my license and i can use it (2-3 months). However, later that day i was discussing with my mother about how i could use it in the house, and she said never mind shell buy me the subscription now. My father then pointed out that the radio had to be run off of twelve volt power(same power a car uses), I then went online and found you can use this in the home with a sirius boom box which costs $100. I can afford this boom box, however i would prefer not to spend this much money trying to get my radio to work. My question, is asking if there are any ways i can get my radio to play off a regular stereo, or is there a cheaper alternative to buying the sirius boom box that is just as efficient? I'm hesitant to touch any GM or Ford brand due to their recent financial instability and that everyone I've talked to, says that GM/Ford cars tend to have built-in obsolescence (break down repeatedly/monthly after 80k miles/5-6 years). This has been supported by my personal experience watching others as well, and the primary reason I'm looking at new cars, not used ones (though I'd be willing to get a used car if it had a very good/solid warranty). I'm so out of touch when it comes to the car industry, I don't even know who else to look at. Can you make any suggestions? more

I usually listen to satellite radio while I'm driving (which never plays Christmas music), but I was in my girlfriend's car and heard a Christmas song that I'd heard before. I don't remember exactly how it goes, and I don't remember any lyrics other than "Merry Christmas" in the chorus somewhere. All I know is the singer was a woman, it sounded like it was from the '80s or '90s, and it was a ROCK song. Drums, bass and electric guitar. There weren't any synthesizers or anything. I am looking to buy my husband satellite radio for his car for Xmas. I have never owned it before and I know NOTHING about it. I do not want to spend more than $200. Here are the details: He has an older car, therefore the receiver part would have to plug in to the lighter. He really likes sports radio and classic rock. I would like the receiver part to be portable (not sure if thats possible) so he can plug into our home stereo. My question is, is XM the way to go or Sirius, and is this possible for $200 or less? I just recently got a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. I was looking through the manual and it mentions about XM Radio. says the antenna is located on the roof. I have the original radio and cd stereo. The xmradio.com says that my year, make, and model has the factory integrated XM Satellite Radio built in. Anyone have the same year make and model. and that has had or still has xm radio in the vehicle please let me know did you need to buy anything special besides the subscription. Thanks to all. more

well i don't know to much about car stereos, but i have a 2008 ford suv and well im looking to get a nice sub system for my car with in my budget. my budget is $500-$700 for the subs amp box and cables etc etc and $500-$600 for the window speakers and amp for that(if needed). for the subs and amp etc etc i would like my subs to be 2 15's and something around 4,000 watts for my amp and i would leave my car radio stocked as it has a 6cd changer, and sirius-xm satellite radio built in(witch i bump sat radio heavy) and 4 window speakers all 2 way. also i would like it all 2 b name brand equipment(if thats possible for my budget). so can any one please help me and put to together a nice little stereo system package? thanx in advance more

After that my mom got really into work. She would work 12 hour days as an assistant principal. Then a year later, she had a heart problem of her own. She was in the hospital for a few days. When she got out, she quit her job and took time off from work. Then she met this guy who she really feel for. The hooked up one night. He thought it was a one night thing, but my mom is really into him. She has become obsessed with him. She thinks he has people following her because he want to keep an eye out for her. One night, my sister called me and said that my mom left a note saying that someone was after her and was going to kill her. She then went to the church to pray. Ever since then she has been seeing signs. She got into a car accident one time because she was looking at the sign of a semi-truck. She sits at home and watching cars pass our house. She also thinks that people are listening to all of her conversations. She threw her cell phone in a forest people someone passed her on a bike. She has this think about the radio. The radio is broadcasting all of her information from her life. She feels that it is being transmitted through the satellites in space. We don't know what to do anymore because we can't take her to a hospital. They would evaluate her and she wouldn't tell them anything. And its not like she is a harm to herself or others. And she is not taking any drugs or drinking. She won't listen to us. She believes that we are out to get her. What should we do? And what is wrong with her? more
