Open Question: what can I do to stop it?pls help!!!!?

A friend of mine keeps sending me group emails.I don't want people to know my email because of this I started to receive spam.I explained that to her but she keeps sending them. I think it's a lack of respect. I don't know what to do.If I block her I can't avoid the problem because my email address will still appear in the emails she sends to her other friends. I can't change my email (I'm using my real name that's what is annoying/upsetting me the most)I've only given this email address for important things and close friends but she's a nutter I reckon. I don't think she knows how to delete my email.I've asked her to stop sending me emails for that address but she keeps doing it. Is there a way I can solve this problem myself? pLease don't tell me to use other email cos that's not a solution. As I said this is an important email and what's bothering me is that it's my real name which is not very usual one. thxbtw, it's a hotmail account more

Open Question: Why do I get "An Error Occurred" when trying to unblock a spam address?

I have been trying to get my PayPal account working for several days. With a PayPal representative on the phone, I discovered that the appropriate email to send me my password was being blocked by my spam filter. I unblocked the filter for "service@paypal.com" as directed by the PayPal representative. However, I still did not receive the new password from PayPal even when sent directly to me by the rep. Tonight I realized for the first time that when clicking on "Save Changes" after unblocking the PayPal address, a message comes up stating, "Saving...An Error Occurred". When I return to the blocked Spam list, I find that the PayPal address is still on there. I've been working on this for three days and any help would really be appreciated. more

Open Question: Why can't I remove an email address from the blocked list?

I select the email I want to remove from the "Blocked Email Addresses" list in the "Spam" section of "Mail Options". I click the "remove" button. I click "Save Changes". In the top right corner in a purple bubble it says "Saving..." very briefly, then "an error occurred" very briefly, then goes away. more

Open Question: I'm getting an error message when I am Saving Changes under Yahoo Mail->Options->Spam->Blocked Email Addresses?

Whenever I try to add a "Blocked Email Address" to my spam filter settings under Yahoo Mail->Options->Spam->Blocked Email Addresses and then click "Save Changes", a purple box appears in the top right hand corner saying "saving..." and then it says "an error occurred." Then, my changes didn't save. What's wrong? more

Hi, I’m tying to unblock a contact from my chat list, but not having any luck. I’ve followed the instructions which are to click: OPTIONS – MAIL OPTIONS – SPAM and look for the ‘blocked chat ID’s. But that’s the problem, I cant see the ‘blocked chat ID’s’ category anywhere! Only the Bocked email addresses! Any help would be appreciated! :) more

I have never solicited anything via email nor has the company I work for, and I typically deal with attorneys, insurance companies and governmental agencies. My husband has set up our own email sever for us and bought us our own domain name. So my email address is "sheila@<domainname>.com. Our domain name is a joke from South Park, so I think Comcast thinks we're spam. AOL might be blocking us, too. How do I convince Comcast.net and AOL.com that we're not spammers and they should allow emails from us to their users? okay so heres the problem. Whenever I use my btinternet email POP3 account my password is sent in plain text over the network this is a real big problem for me as I use my laptop when im out and about and I use wifi access points Basically I have tried to set secure password authentication or ssl tls encryption but I am getting an error message saying that the mail server does not accept it I am thinking this is a problem on bt's side as I know they block encrypted mail sessions to reduce the amount of spam My question then is - is there a way to encrypt my password over the network or is there a mail programme that will do this for me? I know there are problems with POP3 being .. well .. rubbish but its just a thought? Voting Question: How can I remove the sending limit in gmail?

So, my girlfriend has a phone with unlimited texting, as do many people. But I do not. So instead, I use my gmail account, and jsut send texts to her phone, while she send them to my email address. This has been workign just fine, with no problems, until recently, when she and I ended up textign for most of the day. partway thorugh a discussion, I tried sending a text, but gmail refused to send it, claiming that "You have reached a limit for sending mail." SO I tried sending emails to a couple other places, but I can't. Gmail has blocked all outward communication with my gmail account. For obvious reasons, this really annoys me. So what I wanna know is how I can get rid of this. Is there some sort of configuration thing somehwere that lets me send an abnormal amount of email to one individual? Is there a way to upgrade my account so there is no sending limit? And surely this block will be lifted eventually, but how long will I have to wait to be able to send emails again? I looked around on the gmain website a bit, but the only thing it seems to say about sending limits applies to bulk senders, who send a single email to large amounts of different recipients, and it has advice for how to avoid getting marked as spam. That doesn't help me. That is not my situation, but I still have the sending limit. I've only sent about 250 emails/texts in the last 24 hours. But now Gmail has imposed this ban on me. Anythign you can do to help me get rid of this will be greatly appreciated. I've considered trying to contact Gmail and ask them to remove this limit, and maybe explain the situation, but I don't know how to do that, or if there's even the slightest chance that it could work. Also, I'd really rather not use any other email addrses. this gmail account is my primary email. Practically my ONLY email. I don't want to have to try to create another one. Help please? more

I mark things as spam frequently. However, I keep getting some things again and again and again........ I.e., I have deleted with the SPAM button numerous times and today (after not accessing my email for 3 days, I had (AGAIN) -- not one but two from "Justins_Blog" with the same message line about how much he's making each day. So -- SPAM deleting isn't being very effective for me. Yahoo -- what's up? I thought that when we deleted with SPAM you were updating your SPAM lists. more

I keep getting emails from these websites and i put them in my spam folder but i just want them to stop sending them and if i needed to go to the website of whom the email is from i wouldn't know how to find the thing where it says to stop sending the email. But any one else or any spam machine tries to send me something there email gets blocked before they have a chance. I can't stand a Spam Blocker because your still getting the mail its just putting it in another file. It shows you the number of unwanted mail your getting and you still have to empty it. And then there is the curiosity factor where you might want to look just in-case its a girlfriend or something leaving your self open to be fooled by those damned emails more

I'm getting out of the military soon, so my fiancee and I need an apartment. She checked out a place called Copperstone in Colorado springs, CO. After talking with someone there, said person supposedly saved us a room, and gave her the applications. She filled them out and mailed them a week ago along with the application fee. And supposedly, they have not arrived. After talking with the point of contact at the apartment, we were sent more applications (she said I had to email her first to ask, considering that their emails usually got blocked as spam. Interesting), one of the questions on said application, is my bank account number and bank location and info. This is my first apartment, so I'm not sure if this is correct. Also, when I asked how I could pay the application fees, she said that they had a special deal going on right now where you could get your deposit, first month's rent, and application fees for 199, through rentpayment.com It sounds too good to be true =/ Is this a scam? more

OK so i have to send an attchment on my emial to my teacher, but when i click attach and add it to the email and send it it says that The message was not sent because of an error. Sending mail attachments or embedded files with this account is not permitted. This includes the AIM presence icon that appears in your signature. This is probably because the "Block messages containing pictures or files" spam control option has been set. Accounts that cannot receive embedded images or attachments also cannot send them. Please change that spam control option or remove any attachments or embedded images, and resend the message. AND I DONT NOW HOW TO ADJUST THE SPAM CONTORL OPTIONS!!! HELP!! i have aol mail btw. more

I keep getting a mailbox size limit exceeded message, but I have cleared out most of my mail. Could this be some kind of virus or has anyone else experienced this? why cant there be a law so that if email is sent the 'from' email must be legit or else they know their mail will automatically be marked as spam. There also should be a way for spam to be blocked (at the recipient's request) so that the Isp will bounce the email right back so the spammer knows they are wasting their time. I've heard of so many attempts to pass laws like these but have yet to see them happen. Why would any decent person oppose them.David D. they would know a from email is fake the same way I did. Hi, I am getting sick and tired now of our digital newsletters that go out by email now and get blocked or we get marked as spam... I have tried every route i can think of and cannot find any other route to take any my employment depends on it... Resolved Question: Need help with MSN porn spamming virus!?

There is something wrong with my msn. Apparently whenever one of my contacts goes online they get a spam message from me that goes along the lines of "HOT! HOT! HOT! www.isexsexsex.com." Yet I don't see the message from my end, nor does it ever kick me off as if I'm being logged in somewhere else. I have ran several different spyware scans, none of which have helped fix this. I have tried changing my password and secret question from a clean computer, and I have reinstalled my msn several different times trying a more updated version. Nothing else on my computer seems to be affected, although I did notice that for about 2 days leading up to this about half of my msn contacts had their names changed to just be their email addresses, and some of the links such as msn today, and the email button wouldn't show up. I believe I was using the 8.1 version. Right now I just have msn deleted hoping that will stop the spam for the time being. BTW I have been receiving many similar spams from contacts that were usually a link to some random photo over the months, but I always just instantly closed the convo or blocked them for awhile. However I have not seen any that have the same message as mine that only sends the message when people log on. more

Hi, I send newsletters and magazines online to a large email list and for some reason we are being blocked and going in to junk email and spam email folders.. I don't understand why, it is a legitamate email and email addresses.. I think there is a whitelist i can pay to join or send our emails through but i don't know where to find it.. We are being totally legitamate yet our emails are being blocked... My job depends on this email cirulcation and i could be out of work if i cannot find a solution :-( we are talking 100,000's of emails.. all corporate not person addresses.. Please can ANYONE help ?? So my spam guard or w/e blocks alot of my emails. My spamguard has NO BANNED EMAILS IN THE LIST. When i turn spamguard off, it lets the emails through, turn it back on, no emails except a few. Like i said, there are no emails in the spam guard list, please help! more

I get stupid emails from a company called 'Canadian Pharmacy' everyday. I never get spam (because i'm so careful), but the spam is from the same company, just different emails.
